Advantages: Lovely looking books, great selection, some exlusive to the catalogue

Disadvantages: Dekivery cost is quite high

I first decided to have the Next Directory approxamately 5 years ago, I never seamed to have time to get to the shop, my nearest being a 20 minute drive away so what better than to sit with the catalogue alongside a nice cuppa!!

If you place an order from the current catalogue you do not have to pay for the price of the books however, if you don't make a purchase you will be charged £3.75 to your account.

The catalogue comes as 2, Homeware and Clothing, all presented in an attractive looking box which changes each season (Sping and Autumn) The layout is great and a few pages in I find myself already creating a list of 'most wanted!' The clothing book goes form casualware, party pieces, underware and shoes for femalws, then onto males and finally a childrens section. Some pieces you can find in the shops, others are exclusive to catalogue. The Homeware book is identical to the Homeware book whicjhis available in the stores, this ranges from Loungeware, dining, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.

Once you have browsed the catalogue you can place an order over the phone or on-line. You are then told if any of your items are out of stock and when they will be sent. Next provide a next day delievery service if ordered before 4pm (note if you order on a saturday your next delivery won't arrive until the monday) which is great. You can opt to have this order sent to your home, an alternate address (not applicable on first orders) or to your nearset store. Delievry cost is £3.75, if any of your orders items are not in stock and will arrive separatly, you still only pay 1 fee. If you do choose to have your order sent to the store then delivery cost is zero!

The on-line site "www.next.co.uk" is set out exactly the same as the catalogue and in my opinion easy to follow. You need your account number if you are to order from the site alongside some security (set up when you open the account)

When making a payment, Next allow a few different methods. You can opt to pay for your goods when ordering but I take advantage of the pay 28 days after delievery, here you can pay the amount in full or a percentage, you then get charged interest on payments. You can view your account at anytime on line.

Summary: Great way to shop without moving from the sofa
