Oasis

Oasis is a high street store in the UK that tends to offer more classically cut items of clothing. The store itself states "The core target customer is in her late 20's." While this is apparent from the overall Oasis style, it's not to say that if you're in your teens or you're approaching 50 you won't find something you love! I have been an irregular shopper there since the age of about 16. I've had some fabulous pieces that I have accessorised to suit my age and own style. My mum has also done the same. The Oasis shop in Cardiff is in the Captial Arcade on Queen street. The doors also open onto the street itself on one side. It's a good location as the Capital Centre is home so some of the more expensive, good quality clothes shops and I think this is the image Oasis would like to give out. Whenever I walk into the Capital Centre this shop always catches my eye as the window displays are always really good. I always like the outfits in the window and it usually makes me wander in even if I'm headed for Boots (I'm easily influenced!). WHAT IS IT? Oasis is a highstreet store. It is slightly 'upmarket' in some of its prices. I also feel its aimed at 20 somethings but as an 18 year old I can still shop there. Its on a similar par to warehouse, maybe slightly older audience. THE CLOTHES My opinion is they are all of very high quality. My mum is a very good seamstress and just recently i brought home a dress from oasis and my mum commented on how well it had been made...something about having proper stichting or hems or something which is not normally seen in your bog standard highstreet shop. Oasis is one of my favourite high street stores. I would tend to agree with one of the previous reviewers in that it is more catered to those in their mid 20's and over as while it is still high fashion clothing, it tends to be of a more classic taste. Not perhaps what an 18 year old is looking for. Most of the clothing I find is more evening wear and going out but they do still have a range of casual wear and jeans. My local store does sell shoes and bags but the range of these items is very limited and you get a much better choice online. Oasis is a high fashion high street store, that provides clothes for the young working woman who is fashion conscious. Their clothes range from the formal day wear to high quality evening wear, and in almost all of their products they use high quality fabrics, such as silk and satin. Most of their clothes are available in sizes 8-16, and personally I have found them to cut on the more generous side, so it can be worth trying a couple of sizes on to get the best fit.
