I've reviewed a few clothing stores, some beauty product stores and now it's time for every girl's heaven.....a shoe store! Somehow I always end up shoe shopping without even realizing until I've paid for the shoes and I'm half way home. Ohwell, I've just bought myself a nice new pair of shoes, so I'm happy.
The Office here in Aberdeen is situated on the main shopping street (Union Street), it's very near the centre of the street, and is right next door to the market entrance. There's a bus stop right outside the door which can get quite busy, so it can be quite difficult to get into, but it's worth the pushing and shoving. There is only one floor, and it's not very large, but somehow they manage to cram in hundreds and hundreds of shoes....bliss!
When you (eventually) get inside the shop, you're hit with a bright fluorescent light, apparently you want to spend more money if you're in a fluorescent light, so maybe that's why New Look has the same light bulb supplier...
Anyway, as you walk in, the right hand wall is absolutely covered in trainers, mostly DCs, Adidas and Converse. There are 2 pillar type structures right next to this (there's just enough space in between the pillars and the wall for 2 people), and these hold shoe laces, some more trainers and mirrors. As you progress through the store, you are met with...wait for it....MORE SHOES! Would you believe it? Shoes in a shoe store! The whole left hand wall is covered in flats, wedges, boots, stilettos, slingbacks, jellie shoes - you name it, they have it. There are also a few little shoe racks in the middle with the sale shoes on them - always handy for those strapped for cash.
As you walk through to the very back of the store, you'll find the children's shoes and men's shoes together (maybe trying to make us think that men act like children?). I personally think the men's shoes should be at the front as I'm sure there are men who avoid going into Office just to avoid fighting their way through some crazy women doing their shoe shopping!
All of the shoes in Office are very varied in price. I've bought shoes there for £5 once - they were just cute little black pumps I needed for a funeral, but still, cheap as bits! And then I've bought boots for £140, so there is definitely something for every budget, so that's always a plus. It's not only shoes and shoe laces that office sell. They also sell insoles, foot odour sprays, suede protectors etc, so you won't have to run around different places trying to get things for your shoes!
The main brands that I've noticed in Office are Ugg, Crocs, Emu, Adidas, DC and Converse. Obviously those aren't the only make of shoe you can buy there, but if you're looking for any of those, then head to Office as they are bound to have what you're looking for!
All of the staff that have ever served me in Office have always been very friendly (and good looking) males, maybe it's in the job description, I don't know, but if it's anything to go by for the rest of the Office stores in the UK, then I can assure you that you'll always get the best service when you're buying your shoes. But maybe it's just the Aberdonian guys....
Whatever your shoe size, whatever your mood, head down to your nearest Office and I'm sure they'll have something to suit your taste.
