For a decade now Barnes and Noble have been taking over the American book market. They have popular books, cult books, and specialty books, and they have always had a cool coffee bar in the store. Lately all the coffee bars have been Starbucks. They also have a comfortable area where you can flip through your perspective purchase. The staff do not hassle you.

Ottakars has just this feel. It's comfortable, low pressure, and fun. The atmosphere is conducive to browsing, and a customer could happily spend hours in the store.

It's great. Try it. It's my first choice. They are also good to teachers and to writers, both of which I am.
