Our Price

Newest Review: ... it, the only chance you have of finding your CD is by scanning 40 to look for it. You can give Our Price vouchers for special Occasions but there's no point giving any less than £15 as there's nothing worthwhile for less than that. Our Price hardly ever has any really good value for money sales on. From time to time you can get very old CD's on offer- 3 for 2 or for £5. This is almost the only time that you'll get any good value for money products in Our Price. I generally don't like the staff. This is for the main reason of when you buy something, they demand your money from you before giving you the goods, every ti... more

Premium Review Our Price: Their price ain't right (433 words)

This shop is soooo expensive!!!! It sells CD albums and singles, posters, phones and phone covers and odds and ends music things. The CD range isn't very good- they stock the top 40 cd's (singles and albums) which is quite good but if you're after a older CD there's not a big chanmce that it's going to be there. There's a couple of shelves dedicated to any CD ( any style ) and so many fairly well known bands aren't there and you don't have a hope of getting any un-known CD. This is really annoying as I like some pretty much unknown bands thats albums are found in most other well known CD merchants. The CD's ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Getting better (327 words)

Let's face it, Our Price needed someone to shake them up a bit, this time a year ago the stores looked fresh out of the 1970s, they were ridiculously overpriced, awfully lit and stocked next-to-nothing (that you could afford anyway!). The repeated changes of ownership, and the period of uncertainty which arose when WHSmith dropped the loss-making chain of stores, clearly did them no favours whatsoever. More observant readers may however have noticed something of a change in our beloved High Street minnows. Gradually, the Our Price's are disappearing, and re-emerging as brand spanking new 'V'Shops, a testimony to their new ownership by Virgin. ...  Read the complete review

I have to admit that Our Price has always had the image of being expensive, and for the older person but this is totally wrong now. Many cahnges have taken place for the better, although took to long for many small Our Prices around the country such as in Csrdiff. Our Price is now a plaec where everyone can get the music and films they want, no matter what age you are.All shops are set out so products are easy to find, and all Our Price stores i've been to, the customer service has also been very good. They are the only stores i've seen that have thankfully got rid of the insistance of pricing everything at something and 99p.And, whenever i go ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not Too Good Anymore (158 words)

I used to be a great fan of Our Price when I was growing up. First of all it was the only specialist shop near when I live and second of all I found their prices reasonable. However it seems like over the years the prices have creeped up and not gone down again. All the shops I have been in are relativly small and there doesn't seem to be much in them. They sell cd singles, albums, dvds, videos, magazines, posters and blank videos/cassettes. The average price of a cd is £14 and I find this a bit dear as the shop next door sells them for £12.99. Also Sainsburys sells them for £9.99. So I know where I would rather buy them. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Our Price: a change for the better ? (232 words)

Some people seem to be under the impression that Our Price has just been taken over by Virgin when in fact they've been under the same roof for many years. In the past six months Our Price has undergone some interesting changes. Our local branch is now the best plave price wise if you intend to buy yor entertainment goods in two's. They seem to have adopted a marks and spencers poilcy where every price is rounded up to the nearest pound. I actually like this straight foward pricing. Their cd's aren't the best priced when bought on their own however thy have many deals going on most of the time. Two chart cd's for £25 including compilation albums is a ...  Read the complete review
