Advantages: All you needs for your pets under one roof.

Disadvantages: Not sure how it caters for exotic pets.

'Pets at Home' is a chain of large pet store, which operate over the UK, over recent years the number of stores has increased. The stores in my experience are usually found in business parks and out of town retail parks, the buildings are of a large warehouse nature.

The shop sells a huge variety of pet paraphernalia, including pet foods, toys, cages and other accessories. The pets which are available to buy are of the small variety; fish, hamsters, gerbils, rats, rabbits and guinea pigs. The stores offers a greater variety of food and other items than you would expect to find in a supermarket and also of greater range of sizes which having a medium sized dog means that we can get a large bag of food which will last a while. The prices of the pet food (my experience only is of dog food), it is cheaper than you would find in the supermarkets and there always seems to be lots of offers off 3 for 2 etc.

The store has on show the different animals, which are for sale, which always seem to have attention from the children who like the fluffy rabbits etc.

The customer service I have encountered has been excellent, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, when I visit I usually take my dog and the staff always make fuss of her and offer her a treat!

The store offers lots of different promotional events, for example one time I went in they had lots of different eagles in where you could have your picture with, all for a bird charity and another time you could have a professional photograph of your dog which you could have as a portrait or onto a key ring, on the whole there seems to be something going on every weekend, which is good especially for visitors with children to give them some added interest.
