Advantages: Great choice, good advice from staff

Disadvantages: Can buy in bulk but not always the best savings

I use the Pets at Home store in Kidderminster as I a the owner of a cat, however my sister is the owner of a dog and I regually go there to purchase stuff on her behalf.

Pets at Home is now the largest pet supplies store in the UK, having now got over 200 shops. This said you can now by online at www.petsathome.com

When I go there is always somebody on hand to ask for advice and I often find they have a better range of products than the supermarkets. I like that you can buy certain items in bulk, for example I can only buy a box of 12 cat pouches in my local shop whereas here you can buy the 24 packs. The range of collars is great and they also offer the pet tag service where you can engrave the tag for your pets collar.

I also had my cat micro-chipped at the store as it was far cheaper than paying what my Vet was asking but I could not have asked for a friendlier Vet. You can now also buy frontline from in store which you used to have to buy form the Vets (at more cost)

My sister and friends like that they can take their dogs into the store and the shop also offers advice and scales to weigh your dog on.

We no longer have our fish tank but brought our first tropical set from Pets at Home and the help and advice we got was great.

All in all if it is a cat,dog or fish you are buying for Pets at Home offers great choice at a reasaonable price, which is not always the case with independant pet stores.

Summary: Pet Supply Store
