I had absolutely no problems with Singlepoint4U - until I decided to cancel my contract to move to another supplier. At the end of October, 2003 I wrote to Singlepoint4U, informing them of the cancellation. Three days later, I was called by a very pleasant young man from the 'Retention Team' offering me a brand new, shiney, FREE phone if I agreed to continue the contract. The idea of a new toy got the better of me, so I agreed.

The promised phone never arrived.

I phoned 'Customer Services' at the end of November, who said the phone wasn't in stock, but somebody would phone me.

Nobody phoned me, no phone arrived.

Every couple of weeks, this routine was repeated.

Nobody ever phoned me, no phone arrived.

After 3 months of paying for a contract that I only extended on the premise that I'd get a new phone, I lost my patience.

I phoned 'Customer Services' again, this time I spoke to a lady who basically told me that I wasn't entitled to the phone, the phone shouldn't have been offered to me, that I wouldn't get a new phone. I was made to feel as if I was trying in on. It was not possible to speak to the Retention Team or a supervisor. After a while on hold, I was offered an immediate contract termination and a refund of my last month's premium.

I happily accepted the offer, just to be rid of them.

My regret is that on each time I spoke too Singlepoint4U, I neglected to make a note of the person I was speaking to.

I only hope that I prove to be the exception, rather than the rule (but then again, I had hoped for a nice, shiney new phone...)
