A Cheap and Cheerful Place to Shop (Poundland)

For those of you who read my reviews you will know that I frequent Poundland quite often that's why I have decided to write a bit about the shop.

First opened in the UK in 1990 and now with more than 160 stores countrywide, Poundland is Britain's largest £1 retailer. I am not really a great fan of £1! shops because I do think that most of the items they sell really are just worth the £1 you pay for them, but, although Poundland does sell some junk too, it does also sell a good variety of branded products, which sell for much more expensive prices elsewhere. It's one of these shops where, if you have time to have a browse and a rummage then you can pickup a few really good bargains.

I find it can be really good at specific times of year. For instance, at Christmas my daughter managed to buy herself a few cute little decorations for her room. She bought a little blackboard, which was framed by a padded snowman and had a countdown to Christmas on it, a Santa hat and some window stickers. I also managed to pick up some pretty Christmas candles. Quite handy if you don't want to spend too much money on decorations that are only used a couple of weeks per year. They had a good variety of good decorations on offer and good deals on selection boxes too. At Halloween they have a wide range of really scary decorations, ok maybe not made to last, but for a couple of days use in the house, do you really want to spend any more? Their fancy dress outfits are great as well and if they get ruined at the party then you're not quite as upset!!

At the moment they have a good choice of Easter Eggs and pretty Easter Decorations. They have also just recently started to display their gardening products. Again a very good variety of small garden tools, plants pots and tubs, border fencing, bulbs, gloves, compost, plant food etc. They also have a good stock of wild bird food and feeders.

Some of the branded names Poundland stock include - Walkers, Cadburys, Nestle, Tetley, Cif, Fairy, Domestos, Johnson & Johnson, VO5, Aquafresh, Sony and Duracell just to name a few. Their products include household goods, food and drink, stationery, beauty products, baby items, batteries, pets products, DIY, gardening, car accessories, bike accessories and many more.

Last week my sister went into Superdrug to buy herself a metal toothpick and tooth mirror, which cost her £5, we then went into Poundland only to find a very similar set for £1!! She was sick. They have a great range of products and if you have the time to look it's amazing just what you can find.

Each week they have different products on special offer so it is a good idea to pop in once a week to see what bargains you can find.

Originally you could only pay by cash but now, providing your purchases are over £5 you can also pay by card.
