Poundland - yes really everything a £1 (Poundland)

Advantages: great bargains, lots of brand names

Disadvantages: very busy, nightmare with prams, long queues

I have never really used poundland until recently with the prices of everything going up and the need for some bargains i decided to have a nosey around. There isnt one in my local town, however is quite a large one in the nearby city.

For anyone that doesnt know, Poundland is a shop which sells everything from food items, to toiletries, to toys, diy products, household equipment, stationery, anything you can think of and the best thing is everything is only a pound, yes thats right just a £1.

When I went in I noticed straight away how busy it was, I had a double buggy and struggled just to get into the 1st aisle, so decided my partner could wait outside with the kids whilst i ventured in. The first thing that surprised me was that there was quite a few branded products, i had expected it all to be cheap makes, but a lot of the toiletries and food items were branded and a lot cheaper then supermarkets. Some of the stuff was rather rubbish, but my basket soon started getting filled. They have quite a selection of toys, nothing special but for a £1 make great stocking fillers. Overall I think its a great shop for stocking up on toiletries and other cleaning products, however be prepared to be pushed around and have to queue at the checkouts and probably best not to venture in with a pushchair.
