I love poundland!

The one in my town opened in November last year and before that I had always thought of pound shops as somewhere that sells cheap tat that nobody really wants, but buys anyway as it's only a pound.

Well, my eyes were soon opened! About a week after it opened I was in the shopping centre where it was located getting a smoothie. As I was waiting for my smoothie to be made my eyes were wandering. The pound shop is opposite and I was having a peek inside.

To my surprise they looked as if they had some pretty good stuff on the shelves! I decided to have a look in. The first aisle is stocked with shampoos, shower gels and toothpaste etc leading onto household cleaner and baby items.

Further round the shop they stock kitchen accessories, cards, stationery, kids toys, DVDs, CDs, books, food and seasonal items.

I totally expected everything to be cheap and nasty, but no, the shampoos were brand name, the baby items included Disney products and there was even Harry Potter toys in the kids section! The books were really good too, not the usual rubbish that ends up in the bargain bin, I recently saw the Lewis Hamilton biography which is £10.49 on Amazon.

Ever since that first visit I've been hooked! I go in at least once a week, they get different things in regularly and it's best to get things when you see them, as sometimes they never come back into stock again.

Admitedly, they do sometimes get some right old rubbish in, but the bargains far outweigh those!

Summary: Super cheap bargains to be had!
