Advantages: Everything a pound
Disadvantages: Might come across some tack
Our local poundland has been around for about 10 years, and i first went in there with my mum, on our monthly shop to the big shopping center about 15 miles away, being only around 12 at the time, i was amazed at how much stuff i could get with my pocket money- toy's games, sweets etc.
Today i still use the shop when i go shopping and use it to stock up on essentials like cleaning products, toilet paper, branded foods. And yes everything is £1.00!!- hence the name.
In the press recently, with the crisis of the credit crunch hitting us, it's seems Poundland's profits have hit the roof with a 122% rise, whereas other companies profits are falling rapidly.
With over 200 stores nationwide and another 10 set to open before Christmas. It seems shoppers are using poundland more and more, and who can blame them? Capri-sun drinks 5 for £1.00, Niquitin gum,Savlon cream, Dove shampoo,Branded cat and dog food, baby wipes, johnsons baby bath, and cow and gate foods, to name a few all £1.00!.
There are thousands of products to chose from, some being junk and some brilliant bargains.
With my nearest poundland being 15-20 miles i do only go once a month or maybe longer, what i love best about the shop is there wide range of craft and art supplies, and partyware, my daughter loves painting and colouring and with everything £1.00, i can stock up with everything from paper to paint- and all good quality may i add.
If you haven't been to poundland it's well worth taking a trip, as you never know something might be lurking in the aisles that might take your fancy.
Summary: Head to your local shop and get bargain hunting
