Not always a bargain (Poundland)

Poundland to me is a great shop in theory, yet I don't think I have ever really manged to get a true bargain in there.

In the past I have bought Christmas decorations which when i put them up looked so cheap and tacky I wish I had just saved my £1 or £2. I have also bought stationary that seemed okay but again when you get it home and really take a look at it the quality is pretty horrible.

You also have to be careful in Poundland because not everything is cheaper just because it is £1. A lot of their cleaning products and household items such as sandwich bags or bin bags can actually be bought cheaper in Tesco for example, especially the branded cleaning items and even more so if the supermarkets are doing a special offer. So it just pays to keep your eyes open and know what things cost before deciding whether the £1 item is actually a bargain or not.

The best thing I ever bought in Poundland was a tape adaptor for my car! It is simply one of those cassettes that you put in your car tape player and which allows you to plug in an ipod or a cd player. Since my car is so old that it actually has a tape player and was therefore not worth upgrading the car to put a cd player in this seemed like the perfect thing. All tape adaptors are pretty similar (and none sound that great anyway!) so once i decided to buy one i was chuffed to find one in Poundland that was identical to one in Argos being sold for £7.99. Bargain!
