Advantages: some cheap products (they wont last long though)

Disadvantages: unhappy staff (not suprising), dirty shops, some cheap rubbish,

as an employee of this company i would advise many of you to think twice before saying about "awful staff",

this company has gone downhill and they treat staff like rubbish

in the store i work in we have daily bullying and customers who are far from understanding

head office have actually been that mean as to cut all hours, stop staff discounts, not pay time and a half on bank holidays, and pay us all bang on minimum wage,

the store i work in has 4 floors and due to the hour cuts we barely have 3 staff members (including management) working at any 1 time. 1 of them is on till, the 2nd is till backup/putting stock out, and the 3rd is dealing with deliverys..... with no cameras, a delivery almost each day of 15 pallets of stock and a shop full of customers everyone is always rushed off their feet

head office wont even employ a cleaner for us... we have to clean or sweep ourselfs. They expect us now to stay open until 6pm even though theres only enough hours to give that small amount of staff members enough hours until 6pm... so guess what?? many of us have to stay behind and work unpaid after 6pm to sweep and clean the shop floor

now onto a proper review of the store (summarised as if i didnt work there)

i have visited at least 20 stores.

they have a lot of bargain stock, reasonably cheap prices (i have bought a few things that look nice but they dont last long), in the shops i have visted the staff members are helpful but dont seem like the want to be there (no suprise at all), a few of the times i have walked out without buying anything because the shops in general are quite messy

many things havent been priced up right (for example a head office stick may say 99p, however when it goes through the till it is in fact £1, it seemed as if head office were too lazy to correct their stock prices)

i speak on fact, i have been a shopper in £stretcher/instore for about 10 years and worked there for over 4 years...

if you like cheap goods that are either cheap because they are old or cheap because they wont last long then £stretchers/instore is the place for you

Summary: not a good place to shop, best off going elsewhere

I have to agree with this to an extent at least. It seems as though the company has been squeezed by Wilkinson and Poundland, both of which have nicer atmospheres on the whole.
