PowerhouseNewest Review: ... took out a powerhouse agreement on a samsung DVD/Video recorder and fully complied with the requirements and posted off the relevant documents within the required 15 days, retaining the post office registration certificate of posting. I did not receive anything in return. Now five years later, I have applied for my cash back, but I have been rejected as they say I was never registered and am unable to provide the document they would have sent me if I had been registered. Anyone know if I can take them to the small claims court please.... more |

AVOID!
7-10 day delivery changed to over a MONTH. Staff were rude and unhelpful over the phone, deivery arranged and then cancelled without notice THREE times. When I emailed the responses were blunt and unprofessional, I asked if the delivery date would be kept.......
Hi Mr Ross
Your delivery is already booked in for Thursday 22nd May.

Powerhouse
That's not even my name!
Never never use them as you will regret it, they deserve to go out of business

With one thing in mind we set off to go around the electric appliance shops until we found the exact item that we were looking for. We wanted a cheap electric cooker with either two ovens or one over and an eye level grill. This was for my Mum in Law. Does Powerhouse train its staff? How does it survive considering its levels of customer service? I have given Powerhouse the benefit of the doubt on at least four or five occasions but have been nothing but disappointed with their level of service. I have also tried different stores with the same result. I have gone in at quiet times, spent five minutes near specific products and received no attention, I have asked questions about products and staff appear to have little or no product knowledge (I asked to see a Dolby Digital Television and was shown a television with a digital receiver built in). On another occasion, when the shop was empty an assistant ... Read the complete review

One thing is certain - I shall never shop at Powerhouse again. And my advice to all is avoid Powerhouse.co.uk like the plague. I bought a Hifi in Powerhouse's online sale on a Friday. Email confirmation within minutes. Credit card debited within hours. Mail confirmation through the post within days. Hifi never delivered. I called Powerhouse at the end of the following week; where's my Hifi? I asked. 'We haven't got any', was the reply I got. 'So we're cancelling the deal'. Tough. I guess Powerhouse expect their operators to be especially rude because the woman on the phone could have trained Basil Fawlty in ... Read the complete review
