Advantages: Good range
Disadvantages: Customer service not always great
I'm as blind as a bat and have astigmatism to boot (I really am blind, minus nine!). I wear contact lenses but have found that I am a little less able to tolerate them so have been wearing glasses a bit more. Because I have such a high prescription, I have to have the lenses thinned and am a bit restricted as to what frames I can have. I don't want to look like I'm wearing joke glasses!
I get my contacts from Vision Express so got my glasses there too. They have a decent range of glasses and I've found them pretty helpful when choosing them. However, it takes them two weeks to put the lenses in the frame (because I'm so short-sighted) which is quite long, but I believe fairly average for these prescriptions. I get some money off because I get my contacts from there - even so I still paid £270! OUCH! I did buy decent frames because I'm not really a fan of wearing them so I wanted them to look decent. However, they were miu miu not Chanel!
The glasses themselves are pretty good, you have to go into the store to get them fitted, can't see how you would do this if you bought online.
I had a few problems with this order (they promised me they would get them in sooner than they were, so I complained) - as a result I got a free pair of Armani prescription sunglasses, so happy enough with that.
Vison Express aren't perfect but they've been OK with the latest glasses purchase - hopefully I will get a few years wear out of them!
Summary: Vison Express for glasses
