Advantages: Cheap prices. good basics
Disadvantages: Quality of trend items
I first discovered Primark in Hounslow a number of year ago now, before it got 'trendy'. I bought a few fleeces which I still wear, not bad quality for the prices I thought.
Now I have two huge Primarks near me. Also full to bursting with people and resembling more jumble sale on a Saturday afternoon than one of the country's top fashion retailers but what was I expecting for £6 for a pair of jeans?!
The sizing is confusing. One top is sized 12-14, 16-18 and so on... the next is 10-12, 14-16 etc. The only way to tell if it's going to fit it to try it on. But there's 25 people in the queue for the fitting room. Well I'll just bring it back if it doesn't fit... oh wait there's 30 people in the queue for customer Services! AAh!
As for the quality of the products themselves, the materials used are horrible on most of the more on trend pieces, which is obvious I guess. This is a chain trying to get rid of the same skirt Top shop are selling for a third of the price so of course is going to fall down on quality. Having said that, go for some of the basic items and you're on to a winner. Excellent for tees, socks, basic tops and little ballet pumps.
with Primark, you do get what you pay for.
Summary: cheap but not always cheerful
