Advantages: Cheap, good quality clothes, loads of choice helpful staff

Disadvantages: long queues and bad layout sometimes no changing rooms. Looks like a jumble sale

I have bought clothes from Primark for over 10 years now and find it very reasonable priced and great quality. Primark is a high street clothing store. It is identified buy the shop front with is white with Royal blue or Black writing which says Primark or Penney's. I find it quite interesting how many people pronounce the name of this shop differently to try to make it sound posh when it is not!

Primark offers great value clothes I have bought jeans for £12 long sleeve t-shirts, which wash really well for £2.50 socks for £1 a pair. I have also bought children's and men's clothes which have also offered great value. Primark is a high street store and does not operate online. There is a website but it is for information purposes only and you cannot purchase online.

Primark stores seem to have a bit of a chaotic layout. The tills seem to be in the middle of the stores rather than near the doors. Some clothes is displayed on hanging rails while other items are on shelves or round bases which tend to get very messy as customers search through for the correct size. I have been to quite a few primark stores and they all seem to have bad layouts and look a bit like a jumble sale. The other negatives are that there are no changing rooms in many of the stores and the queues are always very long.

Primark have recently received bad press in a documentary about people making clothes for them and being treated unfairly. There were many other stores that did the same thing and there profit margins were much higher than Primarks. Primark have put a code of conduct on there website in response to the issues in the documentary. I have copied the code of conduct as information for you.

Code of conduct.
Employment is freely chosen
Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected
Working conditions are safe and hygienic
Child labour shall not be used
Living wages are paid
Working hours are not excessive
No discrimination is practised
Regular employment is provided
No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

The code of conduct was copied from www.primark.co.uk. The website also has a store locator so you can find a store near you!

Primark has stores in the England, Ireland and Spain it is also know as Penney's

Primark sell several different brands in store. The brands they sell are;
Early Years, which is clothes for babies and toddlers. There are some very good value sets of sleep suits, bodysuits etc in this range.

Summary: I love Primark for good quality cheap clothes and love the range

The trouble is that a code of conduct means nothing unless it is enforced, which most aren't. Primark aren't the only brand profiting from slave and child labour, but they definitely do.
