Advantages: Cheap, great choice, caters for everyone

Disadvantages: Sizes vary, shop can be messy

Having been a student until very recently, and therefore being used to shopping on a budget, I found Primark to be a great bargain shop! You can buy anything there from shoes, tops, jeans, nightwear, underwear, socks, bags, belts and jewellery. They cater for women, men and children. Some stores (larger ones only I think) also stock homewear items such as bath towels, laundry bins (I recently got one for £2), bath mats etc. Ok so the quality is not as great as it would be in a designer shop, but to be honest that doesn't bother me.

I find I either get lots in there when I venture in, or nothing at all. I tend to get jeans there at the minute as I am constantly losing weight and I refuse to spend a lot on a pair of jeans, that hopefully when I'm better I won't be able to fit in anyway! I managed to pick up some jeans a couple of weeks ago for just under £8 thanks to the VAT reductions. They are just what I needed. Nothing fancy, just something that fits. Two days ago I also splashed out (!!) on 2 pairs of linen trousers (£8 each) and a belt for £3.

One word of warning I would give would be to try on the clothes before you buy them if possible. I find in there that their sizes vary a lot. I tried on a few pairs of jeans before settling on the two pairs I bought and I'm glad I did as I tried the same size jeans on but they varied by as much as 2-3 inches. Although the same size (supposedly) I could fit in some jeans but another pair was far too big.

Another word of warning is that sometimes you have to rummage around a lot as the shop can, at times, look like a jumble sale! This is only usually during its busier periods though and is mostly ok. I never have to queue up for long in there and can end up with bags of clothes, when I only intended on buying 1 top!

Summary: Worth rummaging around to find what you want - you'll bag a bargain
