Advantages: cheap, good value nice shop fashionable
Disadvantages: busy and poor online website.
I had never even wandered into primark until my daughter went on about it about a year ago. She was telling me how good it was froma trip to the shopping centre with her friends and insisted I'd like it. I went in with her on our next shopping day out at Wolverhampton and thought it was brilliant.
I was stunned at the low prices for some really nice clothes and accessories. My daughter picked up a beautiful black and floral dress for the summer for £6.00 the other week and a pair of white pumps for £1.99 which were great value considerin the same shoes would have cost about £20.00 in river island.
Primark sells clothes and shoes for women, men and children, hair, jewellery and make-up accessories and homewear objects which are often modern and nicely designed but still very cheap.
Primark keeps up well with the latest fashion,so the things we see in river island can often be found in primark for less than half the price. It's more fun to shop in really because it is often quite messy, probably due to how busy the store is, so you have to root around to find things for yourself. It's also fun because you don't have to keep looking in your basket to try not to spend too much like you would in New Look. I have bought bags of things from there without spending more than £50.00 in the past and I think it is great, especially ideal for young girls that haven't got £20 to spend on a single top.
Clothes that I have bought for myself from primark have lasted well, and I'm still wearing tops that I bought several months ago that haven't faded or shrunk which you may expect when you paid £4.00 for it. I have only bought one bag from there, a small black one with a large thin strap for £3.00 which I got for my daughter and it has lasted brilliantly, for over 5 months and looks new still despite frequent use so I can' t knock the quality of primarks goods either.
Staff are often very nice in primark and can be very helpful to help you to find things that you want despite the busy atmosphere, I have never encountered a rude member of staff in one of these stores so I'm very happy with the services I have recieved.
The only negative thing I can say on this topic is that the stores tend to get very busy and that can make it awkward to shop in, especially with a pushchair when I'm with my son, but this isn't really the shops fault, I think it just attracts a lot of customers because of the great value.
The store is divided and organised well, you have the accessories in one section and the formal wear in a section. Everything is together, so if you're looking for a vest top you know it will be 'over there' by the summery clothes which makes it easier when shopping there to find things that you're after.
The primark website is poor in comparison to other clothes sites like new look or river island. There is no clothes images or sales online which I found disapointing as I enjoy shopping online so I think that they could improve by having a selection online.
My daughters friend began working in the Primark in Merry hill a couple of years ago when it first opened and stayed there from the age of 16. She's now 19 and a manager in the store and has told us she really enjoys working there, that the job isn't too demanding and that she gets on well with her colleagues. So the employment side sounds quite nice and pleasent. My daughter actually handed in a CV and hopes to work part time there when shes 16 and in college.
Overall this is a really good shop that I would recommend to others, nice cheap clothes and more for low prices!
Summary: a great shop to grab some nice cheap things!
