Primark is a clothing retailer operating from Ireland with 188 stores spread across Ireland, UK, Spain, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. The UK itself has 125 of the 188 stores and employs over 27500 throughout all these stores. Primark prides itself on being an affordable clothing chain and has gone from strength to strength in popularity over the last few years, especially in these recession hit times.
A General strapless t-shirt can be brought for just £1.00 and a pair of jeans £6.00 such is their cheapness. They do not advertise and only make their clothes in the most popular sizes and buying them in bulk to allow them to sell at these sorts of prices.
Obviously the quality isnt as good as that of Next or Topshop would be but around half my wardrobe is now Primark as they market really fashionable, cheap, modern clothing.
Their range includes womens, mens and childrens clothing, shoes, underwear, nightwear, jewellery, luggage and homeware. You can also buy accessories such as socks, handbags, scarves and gloves. Their stores are huge so to find the quality items you do have to have some spare time on your hands to trail through the aisles and you can always guarantee a huge queue at the checkouts!
In recent times Primark has been investigated by Watchdog for child labour in India and they have also been accused in 2005 of being the lowest marked of all the uk clothing chains in ethnic working practices, however this statement was changed later on. If you are more interested in affordable clothing than political correctness then this is the store for you. Only concern is that if like me you are not an average height/weight then some clothes may not be the perfect fit as they do not cater for the petite range or larger sizes. Otherwise a fantastic store. Once i tried Primark i never went back!!!

Summary: Love it anyway. Huge range of clothes - some real bargains to be had!
