Advantages: Cheap and fashionable.
Disadvantages: Turn over of stock high, often miss out on good things.
A few years ago Primark seemed to be more of a well kept secret known only by those lucky enough to live nearby a shop but these days Primark is well known and loved by a lot of people.
I am lucky enough to be within a thirty minute journey of two Primarks, one larger than the other. Primark specialises in cheap fashion and basics clothes aswell as bargain footwear. In the more recent times Primark has spread out to mens clothes, childrens clothes, bags, accessories and bedding.
The clothes are generally top of the minute fashion and the turn over is quite high, so if you go in one week and see something you like, make sure you buy it as it wont be there the next week. People seem to go crazy over Primark and the clothes generally get ravished and the shop workers cannot put them back on the shelves quick enough and therefore it can often take a rummage around to find what you are after in your size. The variety of clothes on offer is wide, all styles and sizes in all colours, basically whatever is fashionable.
Quality wise I think you get what you pay for, often more than what you pay for, if you compare to other highstreet shops, who sell things of the same quality for much higher prices. Ive occassionally had problems with items, just like all other shops, but taking them back has always been easy and fair.
I would remommend primark for a bargain, in any of the departments they have on offer. Go along and fill your bag up, you'll be surprised how little it all comes to!
Summary: Grab it while you can.

- 23/06/09 The only thing I've ever managed to find that was worth buying was socks and a belt for jeans LOL! I don't understand why Primark is such a messy store, not the staff, but the customers, why are people so stupid? I visit the one near my office once in a while to see if there's anything worth getting but I see people trying on shoes and then just leaving them on the floor. The same thing with clothes, they'll hold them up agains them to see if they like the style/size/whatever and then just sling them on the floor. What a pain for the staff, I've never seen this kind of chaos in ANY other store EVER! |
