Advantages: Price, product range,
Disadvantages: Busy?
I first discovered Primark about 15years ago when I worked out that my Christmas clothes allowance would go further. Much to the dismay of my mother and her protests that the clothes where 'too cheap' and would 'fall apart' I went for it!
Well, they weren't too cheap - is there such a thing?! But they did fall apart! I mended them to an inch of their life... I never admitted it to my mum!
It wasn't until I was at University, piling up debt here there and everywhere that I gave them another go. I have to say that the quality continually improves. I've spent £4 on tee shirts in primark and £40 on similar from more expensive stores. Don't get me wrong, I love a treat and don't regret the more expensive items, but I am a fickle person and often my I bore of my clothes long before they have worn out.
Living in Birmingham my local store it the city centre - unfortunately I find this store to be poorly maintained. Clothes everywhere like a jumble sale! But one store doesn't put me of the chain. The stores in Redditch and Merry Hill are a longer distance away, but I irregularly travel there for a spree!
Its amazing what you can do with £100 in Primark.
Most recent purchases include cushions (£10 for four - they LOOK posh!), baby clothes, sunglasses, jewellry, tee shirts, jeans, tops, underwear, boots, flip flops, dresses.... sometimes I unwittingly go out in an outfit sourced head to toe from Primark!
I recently commented on this to a collegue who doesn't shop there and she said she wouldn't have known!
It is worth mentioning that because the stores are often busy, the checkout queue can be daunting, however in my experience they always move fast and before you know it your skipping happily to your car with a bargain!
I've even converted my Mum to the joys of it! But the fateful Christmas of 15years ago remains our little secret!
Summary: Not a shop I'd pop into for one item, but great for a cheap spree.

- 13/07/09 I love Primark for kids clothes, they are of a good enough quality to last the 6 or so weeks until my son grows out of them! x |

- 13/07/09 I agree with you in that it is very much like a jumble sale - I also find myself pushed about quite a lot while shopping there, and they dn't go up to my size . I go for the kids clothes, for which I can't fault them . |
