Advantages: Very cheap; follows fashion
Disadvantages: Falls apart
You get what you pay for with Primark. The prices are very very good, for example I bought a pair of leggings for £3, so great if you wear things a few times then discard them. But unfortunately, the items will most often need throwing out by that stage! The seams tend to come asunder, or the sleeves get holes, or the material is so thin it rips...
The look of the clothes tends to be good, following the current fashions and also offering your standard clothes, such as basic t-shirts. This is another reason the clothes are good for short-term wear- they will most likely move out of fashion quickly, or are in bright colours or bold patterns so you will only want to wear them once before being known for wearing the same thing several times over!
The quality, as I previously said, tends to be poor. Though I have to say there are exceptions, such as a long top I've had for years which although is quite thin, has not got any holes or tears yet! I also bought a bright yellow jacket for £15, which was thick, but manmade material and I don't think I ever wore it because it was such a bold colour...
The materials are usually manmade.
Shoes are equally as poor, as the tend to fall apart or because they're not real leather, will make your feet seriously smell!
The toiletries aren't too bad, either.
I will never, however, buy pants from here. It sounds rude, but I do worry about them, after hearing Eamonn Holmes (who was once a manager of Primark) talk about people taking obviously-worn items back to the store and these then going back on the shelves... Plus, I don't find them very comfortable anyway.
The wire tends to come out of bras, though they're not TOO bad if you gently wash them.
If you have the money to go elsewhere, I recommend you do. But if you don't, its not that bad. Especially if you follow fashion and will only wear something a few times.
Summary: Go elsewhere if you can afford to!
