Advantages: Prices, Prices,Prices!
Disadvantages: Busy,Customer service
I never thought that I'd say this but I am actually beginning to fall in love with Primark. I had always thought that this store housed cheap and low quality rubbish, however over the last year or so my opinion has completely changed as, so it seems, has that of the rest of the population. You only have to look at the huge profits made by Primark each year in the middle of the current recession to realise that the store has become a firm favourite throughout Britain and in my opinion it's very easy to see why.
What I love about Primark: For me, one of the main reasons that I frequent the store is its amazing prices. Dresses for £13, tops for £4 and shoes for a fiver are just some of the bargains that i've purchased from Primark and many of these items look like they cost much, much more. The fast fashion atmosphere means that you can go in every week and still find new and on trend products that are often just as good as those in the more expensive shops. There are certain fashion items that are best bought cheap as they quickly get discarded in favour of new trends and Primark is perfect for a little treat.
However... I must say that there are some bad points about being a regular Primark customer, including the following:
The busy atmosphere can be very irritating especially in larger stores where people are on a mission to find bargains. After shopping in the Oxford street store for around an hour I was starting to feel violent!
Some of the stores can resemble a jumble sale, especially during sale periods and I've lost count of the amount of times that I've bought clothes thinking they're the size on the hanger only to realise, after returning home, that they're about 4 sizes too big! So i strongly recommend checking the labels and not just the hangers!
The staff can also be pretty unhelpful in some of the stores that I've visited so don't expect the level of customer service that you receive in other shops. Many of the staff are simply there to take your money and tidy up clothes, it seems, and asking to get the last pair of shoes in your size out of the window is out of the question. Saying that though, as the stores are always so busy, it's understandable that the staff cannot cater to your every need and as long as you are aware of problems you might face when shopping here, The Primark experience can be very enjoyable.
Overall, Primark is great for a fast fashion fix or post payday treat. The store may not be to everyone's tastes but the cheap prices work for me!
Summary: Overall a great store
