Advantages: Price, Range

Disadvantages: Sizing, Store Organisation

Primark is a haven for shoppers like me. I like to look fashionable but have a very limited budget.

Ladieswear

Primark ladies clothes are very much up-to-the-minute fashion alongside basics. You can get simple t-shirts and vests for as little as £1-2 in a variety of colours. They invariably have a selection of jeans although they tend to come in a standard length which is a shame. The tops are not of the greatest quality, but will withstand fairly constant wear for a season. So for £10 or so you can replace each season with new colours and shapes, giving your wardrobe a boost at very little cost. The sizing can be a bit hit and miss so it's always worth taking several sizes to try on. You can always get the latest fashion shapes and there is a really big range which changes frequently. I have raraely gone into primark and not bought something.

Menswear

The sizing seems to be more uniform across the menswear section. The jeans are excellent and come in a range of sizes and styles. The T-shirts are not great quality and tend to shrink a bit. The shirt/tie sets offer excellent value for money and stand up to regular washing and wearing well.

Childrens Wear

Primark childrenswear is brilliant. It is very good value for money and lasts well. It washes and wears brilliantly and there is always a great selection. As with pretty much all childrens clothes retailers, the girls get a far bigger and better selection than the boys. My children are pretty much always kitted out in Primark. Anyone wth young boys will agree that spending vast sums on clothes is pointless. They will play football and roll around in mud in expensive clothes exactly the same as they would in £1-2 clothes!

Footwear

As with the ladies clothing, the footwear sizing can be hit and miss. It is always worth trying on a variety of sizes. The footwear is excellent value for money and there is usually a good range of styles. It's not the best quality around but if you prefer quantity over quality it's the place for you.

Homewares

I have bought a duvet set and some towels from Primark and both have held up well. They have washed nicely and lasted without looking tired and old.

The Stores

I have only been into one Primark store which doesn't look like a glorified jumble sale. It's not unusual to see clothes heaped on display stands and late on a Saturday it looks like a whirlwind has hit the place. However, if you have the time it can be good fun hunting through for the great bargains.

The staff have always been polite and friendly. I haven't ever had a bad experience.

Overall

My favourite shop! I love the products and the prices and I am prepared to fight through the mess to find what I want. I do not suggest going with small children though who hate Primark with a passion.

Summary: I love this place! Cheap and cheerful clothes for everyone and great value homewares.
