Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Possible child labour in the chain
Primark is a chain of shops selling cheap clothes, jewellery, underwears and shoes.
I regularly visit Primark because I find that they really offer good value for money. All the Primark shops I have visited look a bit scruffy and messy, but knowing how cheap things are, I am not too bothered.
There are items on the racks, and also in boxes. Particularly at the end of the day on a Saturday, you may really feel that you are entering the kid of a very messy 5 years old kid.
I buy jeans, shirts, underwears and also jackets.
The only problem with Primark is that the queue for the changing rooms is too big. I recommend you collect all the items you wish to try, and if not sure about the size, take items with your size and the sizes above and below it.
People seem to spend ages in the changing rooms and they go there with huge piles of stuff.
The waiting time at the till is normally not too bad, but do not expect to be fast there either.
However, in terms of value for money, Primark really offers some great deals. There are some ethical concerns on the source of these cheap items, with reports surfacing from time to time of child labour and all that kind of stuff.
It is hard to control each bit of the supply. How do we know that the cotton used is not coming from fields where child labour was employed?
But these concerns exist for other suppliers in UK too.
I do not want to pass a verdict on this, but in terms of pure value for money, Primark is a good place.
Summary: Value for money for sure
