Disadvantages: busy, quality isn't always great
Primark, Primark, Primark, where to begin?
Well Primark is basically a clothes shop, but along with selling other little bits and bobs such as household stuff and a few pieces of make up and body stuff.
Primark is well known for its 'cheap' clothes and of course, being messy! I personnaly love it though and think that it is an either hate or love it kind of thing!
I can remember I went in there 3 or 4 years ago for the VERY FIRST time and just turning around and going back straight out the door. There was clothes all over the floor, too many people and just what looked like poor and cheap quality clothing.
I am glad to say that it has definitley improved since then, yes I will admit that it isn't the tidiest of shops and will probably never will be! That's the facts! It has numerous number of staff who come shuffling along, who don't particuarlly look like they are happy to be there, tidying up shelves, but just aren't quick enough!
The clothes quality has also definitley improves, but they have managed to retain their cheap prices, I won't even begin to mention why as I think we all know why, despite their denial!
I love the clothes that they have in the current stores at the moment, whereas primark used to be a place just for essentials, like t-shirts, jeans, etc, it has now be changed to have many more fashionable items, keeping up with latest fashions such as jeggings, chunky knits, glitter berrets and many other items!
The items used to tend to rip, get wholes, etc but I have managed to pick up tops in there for as little as £1 or 98p which have lasted at least 6 months, altough, granted, some tops I have worn once and they have got a tiny whole in, but on the whole they have definitley improved!
The prices is what Primark is mainly known for its prices which are just phenominally good! I have picked up jeans and thick winter jumpers in there for under £5, which would cost over £30 in Next and New Look! You can pick up 10 beaded bracelets for £1 and luxury extra large thick towels that don't fade for just £5!
It honestly cannot be beaten on price and I don't think we can knock it on that. If you are looking for a bargain or just feel like buying loads and paying the minimal then this is definitley the place to go!
The staff aren't the pleasantest of people in my local one, they don't seem like they want or are willing to help! They're not very chatty and you are lucky to get a 'Hello', they just have this stern, bored expression on their face, scan the items, tell you the price and thats about it! I think they could do with a few 'people skills' personally!
Also I would say don't be put of the queues, they look hurrendous but can go down surprisingly quickly due to the number of staff there! You can join the queue and be paid withint 5 minutes, the staff just want to get you out the way and onto the next one!
Overall I would reccomend Primark, but be wary!
Some of the items aren't as good as they seem! All in all you can pick up some real bargains...
Summary: Try it, you can pick up some real bargains!

- 18/10/09 I just think it's a shame that people in sweat shops have to suffer just so that Primark customers can have a cheap (and nasty) fashion fix. |
