Advantages: Cheap, Cheerful

Disadvantages: Stores look a bit tatty, Quality depends on price

I have recently discovered 'Primark' - A high street clothing store. I have decided that I enjoy shopping there so much that I've come online to do a spot of online shopping from their site - WHY? Because poor little me has no Primark in her home town of Colchester, Essex. Instead I have to travel to Ipswich or Norwich! Awww...! I've just realised Primark has a terrible online website which does not include online shopping! Oh poo! So.... I'm going to write an opinion on the shop instead!

In short words I think this may sum up 'PRIMARK':

P is for PRIMARK my newly found shopping heaven!!
R is for RACKS and RACKS of clothing.
I is for the INCREDIBLE choice, value for money and size of the stores.
M is for the MASSES of MONEY saved.
A is for the AMAZING ACCESSORIES.
R is for the RUBBISH state the store looks like on your entry.
K is for the KINDNESS of the staff

In longer words this may sum up 'PRIMARK':

I recently discovered Primark when shopping in Norwich with my partners relatives. At first site the place looks like a grotty charity shop! YES... you have to rummage a little to find what you're after but I really enjoyed shopping there! Staff can be helpful, gorgeous clothes can be bought... what more can you ask for? I've broken my opinion down into smaller sections for you all to read...

APPEARANCE AND APPEAL

All stores are relatively large which is great. From the outside they have a clear 'PRIMARK' sign but nothing fancy. They have nice, large window displays which can be very welcoming but as I said before, when you enter the store you will probably be put off a little by its instant messy appearance but don't let it put YOU off. I have only visited the Norwich store but I have been told most stores are all pretty simalar. The clothing is arranged on hangers which is quite easy to reach and rummage through. However the middle of
the store consists of tables containing folded up items of clothing which can look very presentable but after a busy day of the public searching for their perfect item and size, it tends not to look so great. Clothes usually look like they've been picked up and thrown back down again but if you can handle this you will pick the clothes up, admire them and then maybe search for your size. The clothes are clean and full of labels, there is nothing wrong with them!

The tills are great, they are usually in rows of about 8 with huge queueing aisles. The best bit is all the shelves and racks of socks, belts, hair ties, accessories and bags by the aisles (All under a fiver!) - you're guranteed to pick something else up before you reach the till! The changing rooms are big although there are only a couple to each store (Although filled with loads of cubicles!). They are seperated into male and female sections (Females to the left and males to the right usually!) You can also take loads of stuff in too!!! Access is all great, lifts for the disabled and elavators and stairs for others. The walls and floors are all plain and simple but not unappealing.

Appearance and appeal: 7/10

QUALITY OF CLOTHING

I must mention here that Primark is dirt cheap! Forget Matalan, Asda and Tesco prices, Primark wins the competition! Prices are unbeatable which may leave you wondering about the quality. I have so far bought from Primark:

3/4 length jeans
socks
belts
A sleeveless colourful top
A white sleeveless top
hair accessories
A summer scarf
Denim short skirt

All these items are still being worn today after many washes. Quality is not as good as your local highstreet stores; Debenhams, Marks and Spencer and French Connection but they are pretty good for the price you pay for them. My jeans and tops are all washing really well - no fading and no bobbling (Is that a word? Please let me know if you don&#
39;t understand what I mean!?) I am really happy with the quality of these items. My scarf is a summer silky scarf which I like to tie tight round my neck or where as a belt - know the kind? This has a little snare in - But I'm guessing all silky scarfs are liable to little snares? My belts and other accessories are fine too - quite good quality (depending on the price I payed for them!) all in all!

Quality of clothing: 9/10

OTHER THINGS PRIMARK HAS TO OFFER...

Theres more than just plain clothing! Can you believe it!? Primark also offers ranges in underwear, nightwear, shoewear, swimwear, accessories (bags, hair stuff, belts etc) and also home furnishings! All prices are kept low and the variety is amazing. The underwear, nightwear and swimwear can take up one whole floor! I am definitely buying my holiday stuff from Primark, I'll be able to afford five bikini's for what I'd usually pay on one! The home furnishings was also very interesting - they don't sell large furniture etc but what they do sell is really nice and so cheap! I only ventured up onto the first floor after a few visits and I was so gutted realising I'd mised out on so much! Take full advantage of the whole store!

Other things Primark has to offer: 9/10

VALUE FOR MONEY

I think you may have gathered by now that Primark is pretty damn cheap! It's great! Low budget shopping for shopaholics like moi! The quality is reasonable, the styles vary from traditional to up-to-the minute fashions - how can you complain? It caters for everyone so you've got no reason not to go check out the super prices! Here is my list of what I bought again, check out those prices!!

3/4 length jeans: £10
socks: £2
belts: £2
A sleeveless colourful top: £3
A white sleeveless top: £3
hair accessories: £1
A summer scarf: £2
Denim short skirt: £7

I don't think I need to say anymore really! Other it
ems will vary around these prices:

Bra and Knicker set: £8-12
5 pack of Boxers: £3-7
Hair ties: £1-3
5 pack of anklet socks: £2-3
A belt: £2-6
A handbag: £4-15
A pair of shoes: £7-25
A bikini: £5-20
4 pack of coasters: £3-5
4 pack of pillows and cases (For suites): £5-15

Great prices and great quality!

Value for money: 10/10

STAFF AND HELP

I've never needed any assistance with my shopping, when I'm shopping I'm on a mission and no-one can stop me. However I have been confronted with staff at the changing rooms and also the staff at the tills. They have all been very polite and kind. I've also been confronted with the security guard.... don't get worried; I was still in the changing rooms at ten past five and they closed at five! I had no idea! I'm sure if you did need any help any of the staff would be happy to help you, there are always loads around re-stocking the items or attempting to re-fold the clothes!

Staff and help: 8/10

OPENING TIMES

These are the Norwich opening times but I'm sure all stores are pretty simalar:

MON 9am - 5.30pm
TUE 9am - 5.30pm
WED 9am - 5.30pm
THURS 9am - 8pm
FRI 9am - 5.30pm
SAT 9am - 6pm
SUN 10.30am - 4.30pm

CONCLUSION

Obviously I can only comment on the quality of the clothing or at least the things I've bought, you will have to try out other items yourself! Primark caters for all ages and for both male and females so why not go check out your local store!? I'm really hoping one will arrive in Colchester one day! The stores are great, I'm generally not a cheap skate, I enjoy my designer gear and my up-market high street clothes - your wardrobe doesen't have to be made up of Primark though does it? It's just fun and great if your a little skint! As for the primark website: www.primark.co.uk it's a big let down!

So yo
u now may understand a little why I'm a bit miffed that Primark doesen't have online shopping because I was quite happy to get out my card on this boring Wednesday evening and order, order, order galore! Oh well, writing a review has filled up just as much time and it's been a lot cheaper as well, I may even make some money! (To spend at Primark!!) Thanks for reading.

Congratulations on your crown!

I shop occassionally in Primark (normally the one in Norwich).I think their prices are great and the quality is good.

(Stores is Essex): Basildon, Romford and Southend. These must be closer than Norwich?
