Description: Clothes.

Newest Review: ... jacket for spring in the January sale with 75% off! That's another plus for Principles actually - when they have a sale they do it in style, not just a token couple of items nobody else wanted in a corner with the rest of the shop full of full-price stock. This year they actually started their 'January' sale in the week leading up to Christmas and about 90% of the shop was reduced which is ... more

... the way a big sale should be. Discounts ranged from 30% to 75% (with most items reduced by at least 50%). They have a small accessories department which is nothing special but nothing bad either. I have nothing more to really say than that they ha...more

Premium Review Principles (551 words)

Principles has really started to move away from its mumsy beginnings lately, and it is now somewhere I visit regularly when shopping for clothes for myself. They do gorgeous work clothes (trouser/skirt suits) and I have found that you cannot buy better quality for the price. The lining of their suits is excellent and the material and finish always looks stylish and classy. It will cost you roughly £110-130 for a two-piece suit as most of the jackets are in the region of £75 and in my opinion they represent excellent value for money. In terms of workwear, this shop easily rivals Next and in my opinion surpasses it. While they sell lots of different ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Why do I have to always sew up my own hem (142 words)

I really like Principles clothes. I find they have some really nice styles for the working women. I also find they have a great collection for just throwing in the washing machine. None of this hand washing rubbish. I think hand washing is awful. However I find their prices are a bit more expensive than Dorothy Perkins, but the fabric quality seems to be a bit better. However the sewing quality is not good at all. I purchased a skirt and had it for a week and then the skirt grew around my ankles. I could have broken my neck on the tube stairs. The hem had fallen down. I then had to do my own home repair job, by hand as I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Principles: Princples - can be good (179 words)

Princples is the kind of shop you frequent when you need an interview suit or a wedding outfit! It does have a range of casual stuff but they are still a little bit too formal for me except for their t shirts! The quality of the clothes is excellent. I must admit I only tend to go in there on a sale bargain hunt because then they do reduce the clothes down to very reasonable prices. Also in non sale times you can normally see a few £10 off stickers around. The principles sizing is on the generous size as well - which is reallllllly great for me! It's just a shame that their trouser legs are not long enough for us tall people! Princples ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Am I getting old?Or just with it? (311 words)

I always had this misconception that Principles was for older women, those settled into careers needing nice suits and sensible dresses for smart occasions, i guess I always thought it was a bit stuffy and not me, I was more of a Top Shop girl!! A wierd thing happened this week though. Actually a month ago I saw a dress in the window and thought it was really nice, being in a rush as ever I walked by and didn't think about it again until this week when I walked by and saw the dress on a rail in the sale. From £45 to £20...absolute bargain! Whilst I was in there I decided to walk around and have a look at the new autumn collections. I was and am still so shocked at ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Principles: Smart shopping (238 words)

Principles is at its' best in supplying smart clothes. The really casual stuff misses the mark. The suits here are great, well cut, well designed and long lasting. You rarely see a really naff item in here. If you need a super smart evening outfit then Principles is great. For Chrismas they stock a great range of serious party frocks. Smart shoppers look out for the festive wear they want and then hold out for one of Debenhams 'blue cross days' where all the clothes, including those in concessions like principles have a minimum 20% off. These days are held near the start of each season so you get discounts on new stuff, not ...  Read the complete review
