Queensgate Shopping Centre Highstreet Shopping

Newest Review: ... have lots of different items for sale which other shops tend not to have available. They have hairdressers, fashion, electrical, health and beauty, jewellery, absolutely every shop you would want to buy from. The centre is very clean and bright, it has good lighting and there are lots of places to eat if you want a drink or a meal. There are I believe lot of carparks, although we did not go in a car, we went in a taxi as we were all going out for a meal on our way home and none of us could drive if we had an alchohic drink, and we were going to a nearby pub where they live, so it was easier and better to travel by taxi, which was hand... more

My sister in law and her husband live in Peterborough and I went to visit them last as I do occasionally and we normally go to different shopping areas for them to show us around where they live, and so last year they took me and my husband to this shopping centre. It has lots of shops, well know high street ones and also little ones that are not so well known but well worth going inside as they have lots of different items for sale which other shops tend not to have available. They have hairdressers, fashion, electrical, health and beauty, jewellery, absolutely every shop you would want to buy from. The centre is very clean and bright, ...  Read the complete review

Queesgate centre is in the heart of Peterborough. The Queensgate centre is also only a stones throw away from Peterborough's Cathedral in which Catherine of Aragon (Henry the VIII 's first wife) is buried. For history fans out there, the Cathedral also claims to have the oldest wooden medieval ceiling in the world. The grounds, gardens and lawns to the Cathedral also become popular at lunch times, during the summer, for both office and shop workers to sit and enjoy there sandwiches. Enough about the Cathedral, I am here to review the Queensgate centre. As I stated earlier, the Queensgate centre is the main shopping centre in the city, and is in the heart of ...  Read the complete review

Queensgate Shopping Centre: All you might need and nothing more (536 words)

I'm not sure if the people who've written a review about the Queensgate shopping centre are talking about the same place that I visit as I find it to be a dismal and uninspiring place in almost every way. For those who haven't visited, the shopping centre occupies a space at the heart of the city centre dividing the bus and railway stations from the town's main shopping street. The centre is impressive in scale and beyond the multi-storey carparks that dominate the Peterborough skyline for approaching visitors is the shopping centre. Incidentally these carparks have become suicide hotspots recently with several cases of people jumping from their open ...  Read the complete review

I have lived on the outskirts of Peterborough all my life, and even though there are a few places to shop, queensgate is the main shopping area in the city. Transport to and from: ****************** Queensgate is very close to the train station and houses a large bus station too so it makes it ideal for visitors to get in and out of the city without having to struggle too far with your bags. The only down side to the train station is that you have to go over a bridge that has lots of steps and there is no ramp for disabled or pushchairs, which makes it hard work. There are lots of taxi ranks outside the bus station too, but if there just for ...  Read the complete review

I agree with Cindy1, Queensgate is an excellent place to shop with all the amenities you cold wish for. It does get very, very busy at the weekends though. I normaly drive in from Grantham and although there a lot of parking spaces, you have to look for them. With this in mind, there is something else on the plus side for Queensgate. The rail station is right next door ! In fact there is a walkway right from the exit of the station, over a dual carriageway and right into the shopping centre ! What more could you ask for ? Even coming from as far as London, it would only take you 50 mins to get there. All in all, one fine place to shop. Definately ...  Read the complete review
