Advantages: lots of stores in one place
Disadvantages: limited stock
House of Fraser is a large department store similar to the likes of debenhams - only smaller.
They are usually found in towns and cities in the centre. House of Fraser has a range of concessions including Warehouse, Oasis, Therapy amongst others. Beware! You can only take things bought in concession stores back there. You cant take them to a normal store.
The layout of the store is usually simple and easy to navigate with the store separated into sections, menswear, womenswear, makeup/fragrance and homeware. Some House of Fraser stores also have a cafe. I really wouldnt recommned this - very overpriced and my sandwich must have been stood for days (the cheese had curled up at the edges and gone hard.)
Staff are usually pleasant but there is the odd one who will look down their nose at you. Returns are pretty simple as long as you stick to the rule mentioned above.
Overall i like visiting House of Fraser as there are a lot of stores in one place. The one downside though is the size of the concessions, they often only have a very small selection of clothes in each. I susspect these kinds of shops will begin to close as larger shopping centres take over.
Summary: worth a look

- 11/05/09 The sales are the best - Planet skirts for £20 instead of £120. My idea of a great shop! |
