British Red Cross

The British Red Cross is now an international charity that aimed in stop and prevent inhumane acts and situations. They aim to protect human life and prevent discrimination and ill treatment irrespective of race, religion and so on. The red cross raise money in various ways, donations, events and shops. It is the shops which I am reviewing today. The shops I have visited have been great. The stores are pleasant, tidy and well organised with mens and womens item in sections and then clothing by item and size. Sections for other items such as books, gift sets, shoes and so on. I am a certified RespectED: Violence and Abuse Educator for the Red Cross, which provides prevention programs to high school students. The presentations are delivered to youth and community members by Prevention Educators who have intensive abuse prevention training and experience. The Red Cross Society in Canada(where I live), is part of an international federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, a global network of over 170 national societies. I went in this charity shop because i was interested in voluteering to do some charity work because I had some spare time in the holidays as i had just broken up from university. I was amazed by the attitude of the woman who was running the shop. When i asked if she needed any volunteers she was snobby and bab tempered with me. I think that this was because I was pregnant at the time and i`m fairly young. I thought that charity shops would welcome people wanting to help them, reguardless of their situation.
