Advantages: worthy cause

Disadvantages: staff snobby and judgemental

I went in this charity shop because i was interested in voluteering to do some charity work because I had some spare time in the holidays as i had just broken up from university. I was amazed by the attitude of the woman who was running the shop. When i asked if she needed any volunteers she was snobby and bab tempered with me. I think that this was because I was pregnant at the time and i`m fairly young. I thought that charity shops would welcome people wanting to help them, reguardless of their situation. I t also looked like she could have done with the help because the shop was dirty and disorganised. Although i will still support the red cross charity, i`m not going back in a shop where the staff are so judgemental.

What a terrible shame. As a Red Cross volunteer for the Fire Victim Service I am appalled that you should have been treated this way.
I have just spent the better part of a day in red hot sun (a miracle in itself)
collection donations and recruiting.
I can assure you that this was an individual who is not typical, the vast majority of other volunteers would have welcomed
you with open arms, even if they didn't have an immediate
oppurtunity for you.
How very sad!
