I'm not one of these people who keep up with the fashion all the time. I like to wear comfy, clothes which suit me and I'm not one of these who will spend a lot of money on one item of clothing. I'm not really a fan of top-shop and my local town currently doesn't have much to offer in regards of shops, due to the shopping centre being refurbished. They have how-ever recently opened a Republic store and find myself going in here quite often to check out their new ranges and their clothing and accessories.
The store I am reviewing is actually in Guildford, of course this may look slightly different to other older stores and different stores stock different products and brands. Republic is a modern and fresh, looking store and is very spacious. They sell clothing for men and woman, which includes clothing from casual and lounge-wear to dressing up and party clothes. They also sell a range of accessories such as bags and shoes. As you walk into the store you can clearly see that the men's clothing is set down one side of the store and the down the other half of the store is the ladies clothing. The till can be found at the back of the store, and is located next to the fitting rooms. The store is very well lit and is always tidy with hangers all facng the same way and not too many clothes on the racks. Some clothes are folded nice and neatly on tables or other displays in the store.
As I looked around the store I noticed that is was very spacious and there was plenty of room for push-chairs and wheel-chairs. I often find that in some clothing stores it's very tight to get a push-chair in between the aisles and clothing racks. They don't have things in specific areas; everything seems to be a bit mixed up. As I walked in I could see items such as joggers and hooded tops, then there were trousers and tops mixed in together, these included combat style trousers and then there were going out tops and jumpers.
***THE CLOTHING RANGE/QUALITY/PRICE***
Republic stock their own range of clothing which is Soul Cal & Miso, these brands of clothing are cheaper compared to some of the well known brands they sells such as Police, G-Star, jack & Jones and more. With regards to price I think their own branded items are very reasonable and I always find these items of good quality. Very often they have offers on their items such as 2 items for £30, these are always marked with tabs on the hangers, and you can mix and match products including ladies and men products together. The well known branded items are more expensive and you may find yourself paying at least £40 for a G-Star t-shirt, which is of course good quality as you are buying a well known brand. Their t-shirts on average will cost you about £25. I have purchased a few things from Republic, mostly their own brands and I have always found the quality to be very good and the clothing is long lasting.
You can find lots of different clothing in here. You can buy jogging bottoms and matching tops, or you can find casual/smart jeans in here as well as items such as combats, denim shorts and a range of skirts. There are tops which are suitable for wearing in the day, made for a casual look and there are dressy up tops which you can wear on a night out. They also have some beautiful dresses in here as well, which can be dressed up or down. You can get ideas of different outfits by looking on their website and seeing which items they recommend putting together. I have recently purchased a jumper from here and even though it was only a lightweight jumper it's made very well and is good quality.
The fitting rooms are mixed men and women, and there are plenty of cubicles to try on clothing. The fitting rooms are very modern and very clean. There is always a member of staff on the fitting room to count how many items of clothing you have and she will then take you to a fitting room, and put the number on your door and tell you that if you need any help or different sizes to just ask. The fitting rooms are quite large inside with plenty of pegs to hang clothing on and also a small stall and a large mirror.
I always find the staff in the sore very helpful and friendly. When-ever I have been in here, staff have asked if I needed any help and if I found everything I was looking for. They are always well presented and look fashionable. (I presume they have to wear clothing from the store, as part of their uniform). When being served at the till, the staff were quick and helpful. They smiled as they served me and were very polite.
They do have a refund/exchange policy, which can be found on the back of the receipt. I have, had to return something to the store before and they processed the refund without any problems and were friendly and smiling through-out the transaction. As long as you read their policy when taking items back for a refund or exchange you shouldn't have any problems.
I love the range of clothing they sell in here and love it when they have special offers in the store. You will find an outfit in here for any occasion, and staff are always on hand to help you with any problems you may have. I can imagine this shop will get very busy at the weekend, as I know a lot of people who like shopping in here due to the good quality clothing and great prices. Compared to other shops in my local town, there isn't really anything that compares to this, so this shop will become very popular in a very short time. I love this shop and will continue to shop in here for casual and going out clothing.
