Republic is a well known leading multi-branded high street fashion retailer, who sell clothes to suit every unique fashion style for affordable prices. Through my own personal experiences of Republic, staff are always polite, happy to help and always seem to have a passion for fashion which shows great training in customer service, whether it be in store or online. Republic sell well known brands such as; SoulCal, Crafted, Miso, G Star, Henleys, Fenchurch, Diesel, Firetrap, Bench, Police and many more.
-Republic, In Store-
Nearly every republic store you go into looks the same, funky, fresh and fun. Defiantly appeals to a younger market. Everything is set out in sections for each different brand, so everything is easy enough to find. There are plenty of staff to help you if you should need it. There is usually always a sale rail where you can pick up a few bargains every now and again. I think its great how Republic have teamed up with Schuh and in some shops, part of the shop is sectioned off for shoes.
Republic online is easy to navigate your way around whether it be for ladies clothes or mens clothes. There is a section for sale items and offers so you never miss out on a great opportunity to pick up a bargain! There is also a section for celeb inspiration so you can keep up to date with what the celebrities are wearing and how Republic can offer you a very similar alternative at a fraction of the price!
Over Christmas I ordered a couple of tee shirts online for my partner, after a week of waiting and receiving a dispatch note within only a few days of placing the order, I still had not received my items. I contacted Republic regarding this and within 24 hours I had an answer to my questions, although republic had sent out my items with a courier service they seemed to have got lost in transit. Republic were happy to give me a full refund for the items and for delivery, as well as crediting my account with an extra £5 for inconvenience. I was really impressed with the customer service I received and would defiantly give 5 stars to the company for their customer service.
Republic is a clothing and accessories store that sells clothes for Men and Women, and mostly stocks middle named designer brands like DrunknMonkey, Bench, SoulCal and Diesel.
Republic is not a cheap store by any means, but the it is not the most expensive and you can save a bit of money on some decent brands, especially in the sales or when they have special offers like 2 T-shirts for £20. The clothes are of decent quality and I have never had any type of problem with clothes I have bought from Republic. The clothes have always been a perfect fit too, which to me is a good sign of quality clothing.
I have found the staff in Republic to always be nice and helpful, and they will help you as best as they can to get other sizes, different colors, or just to help you decide what to buy. They are always polite and nice, and I always get good service in store. I also quite like the changing rooms in the Republic stores I have been in. They have plenty of room, with loads of hooks to hang up clothes and a little shelf to put your bags on. There is also good lighting and large mirrors so you can see exactly how the clothes look on you.
Republic stores are always laid out quite well, with every thing in sections by brand, and the clothes are usually well set out by size so you can find what you are looking for without too much hassle.
I recommend Republic for some good shopping where you can buy quality clothing and accessories for a decent price. Check out their website www.republic.co.uk for a look at what they sell before popping into the store.
I have only recently started shopping at Republic as they dont have many stores, and iv never actually heard anyone talking about them before! Anyway one opened up in one of my local shopping centers so i went in for a look.
The store near me is very big and they sell mens and womens clothes downstairs and upstairs there is a schuh store. I feel like the store is more suited to men ( well young boys really, cant imagine my dad shopping there!) because although there is a section for women its more suited for young teenage girls and their clothes arent up to the standard of other high street stores. They sell a lot of sports, casual wear for women and most of it is quite cheap and chav like. They do have designer names like G-Star, Diesel and Firetrap but the clothes still dont offer much style. I recently bought a plain black dress with sequined shoulder pads from them that looked quite nice and was only about £25 but after getting it home and trying it on, i noticed it was really thin material and even though i was wearing a black bra, it was still really see through so i will be returning that.
On the other hand my boyfriend loves this store and i must agree with him that it has a much better range for men and young boys. They have a wide range of G-Star jeans, t-shirts, jumpers etc as well as Henleys, Soul Cal and Bench.
The Schuh section upstairs sells shoes for both men and women and has Ugg boots!
If you are a young guy then i would highly recommend this store if you are into your brand names as they have a lot on offer and they often do promotions like getting 2 items for £30 when they sell for bout £20 each. But unless you are a young teenage girl who is into casual and sporty brandwear then i would go to the other high street stores for a new outfit. The store does a 10% student discount all year round, but i have heard that this doesnt include any G-Star items (a bit stupid i think, as G-Star is the most expensive brand in the store!) and they also have their own website if there isnt a store near you.
I was a teenager when I first started to shop here at Republic and still do these days. Republic unlike the other stores have a nice selection of different clothes for both sexes here.
Store has loads of fitting rooms at the back and staff are near by around the clothes helping you decide and find the right clothes you wants. It is indeed some classy service from them all the time making sure customers are getting the help they want.
Finding clothes here is no problem but their is one problem and that comes in the sizes available. They seem to have less sizes available in some of the clothes they have available here. The prices for clothes are not good either as most of their prices for the clothes available here are high.
For men the stock does not get updated too often and its mostly the same clothing etc G Star clothing all the time or Bench tops. Republic's offers in the summers so far have yet to actually impress me one bit. They need to put in some better offers as right now their prices remain a little high for their clothing available. A sale could help them but they do have some good stock in that are worth buying to.
You can find all the latest trendy clothes available at Republic for men and women. They have a wide range of clothing from brands like Henleys, Bench and G Star available in their clothing mostly. They sell shoes, jeans, tops and even do some bags now which they never had before. Republic's prices on the other hand are not exactly cheap at all. The average T Shirt at the store is priced around 20 pounds upwards. The average pair of jeans are priced over 50 pounds and this is without heading over to the G Star jeans department. The G Star jeans are priced at over 100 quid!
I did buy some G Star jeans at 100 quid this year and had a problem with it. It seemed like somebody else had already worn them and I only noticed this problem when I got back home. The jeans had a mark on them on both sides and Republic did eventually refund the money. At first they offered me vouchers to use in store but after complaining more they offered me my money back.
Most of their clothes are likely to appeal to teenagers and younger people. You can not find clothes that are plain here everything on sale here has a big sense of fashion about them. Personally I stopped shopping here now because of their prices. Some of their clothing especially the jeans you can find on other websites now at much cheaper prices. Republic is expensive to shop at but still has good fashion clothing on sale it has to be said.
~*~ Republic ~*~
Although my loyalties lie with Topshop, I do occasionally venture out and browse other high street stores, and Republic is one fashion retailer that I often forget how much I like! Republic is a men and women's fashion retailer, with a target market of 16-25 year olds. As well as own brand clothing, Republic also stocks garments from a variety of other designers including Bench, G-Star, Henleys and Drunknmunky.
For this review I'm going to have to focus mainly on the womenswear section as I only very rarely go out in men's clothing....
~*~ The style ~*~
One of the first things that hit you when you walk into a Republic store is how bright and colourful everything is. They certainly don't do dull! All of the Republic stores I have visited are brightly lit and uncluttered, with trendy music playing. It is very clear by walking in the store that it's target market is younger consumers.
~*~ The stock ~*~
Ladies will find pretty much everything you would expect to find in a fashion store; jeans, t-shirts and hoodies as well as more formal dresses and skirts and going out tops. They also stock a small accessories range and bags and purses. I've never been impressed with the bags stocked by Republic, but have noticed very recently that the style has changed a lot, and they are keeping up with the trends accessory-wise.
Republic's 'Crafted' jeans are probably my favourite pair of jeans that I own. I fit the fit of them to be brilliant and they are really long lasting - I definitely recommend you giving them a go!
Men can choose from a selection of jeans, t-shirts and shirts - there is a good selection of menswear, unlike with other men and women combined stores where the men often get a bit hard done by!
~*~ The prices ~*~
A pair of Crafted jeans will set you back around £34.99, a dress around £25 and going out or 'fashion' tops around £16. Not bad as far as high street stores go, but then again not the cheapest. Men should expect to pay around £40 for a pair of jeans and around £30 for a hoodie.
Republic constantly run '2 for £10, £20 and £50' offers however which can save you a lot of money. These offers allow you to mix any two items for the said amount. Items include jeans, hoodies, tops and dresses (and mens items too!) You will be surprised at how much you can save - you will sometimes for example find £29.99 dresses in the '2 for £30' mix and match, meaning you are pretty much getting buy one get one free. Who can say no to that!
As I mentioned before, Republic also stocks a variety of other designer brands. The prices of these are generally quite a bit higher - Bench jeans are around £45 for women, for example, and Henley's men's jeans £65.
~*~ Student discount!! ~*~
Republic offer 10% student discount to all customers with a valid student card, and often do promotions where you can get 15 or even 20% off all purchases (not sale items). Definitely worth looking out for these!
~*~ The verdict ~*~
I like Republic. It's a good little store and isn't too overpriced. I find the clothing quality to be average to good - the clothes aren't the longest lasting you are going to buy, but since they are fashion items it's likely you wont want to wear them for that long really anyway...
I think the store has changed quite a bit recently, and has become more Topshop-esque. There are so many products in store at the moment that have mimicked Topshop, and that can't be a bad thing! Prices are slightly cheaper as well, and I actually prefer some of the copied-from-Topshop items, which I can't believe I have actually just written!
Overall, Republic is a nice little clothes store worth a look in if your looking for something special to jazz up your wardrobe!
Fashion store is Republic which has got some of the best fashion clothes for men and women on sale. Republic at my local is spread out into two sections one side is for the women and one for the men. Their staff be around to always to make sure customers get the right help to which is another good thing about Republic.
For men you can get some of the finest quality clothing from brands such as Bench and G Star! Never seen much good quality tops on sale here its mostly their jackets, jeans and shoes which are new in stock. G Star jeans most of them are priced at 80.00 and go all the way up to 100.00
Changing rooms are available at the back for customers which is another positive about Republic. If i was to comment on their prices i would say they are expensive. Mostly its about G Star clothing along with Bench clothing in the store. This means the prices will be high for the clothing available.
Republic needs to add in more different quality tops to rather than going with the same brand. One point i can note out is you will see the same G Star top on sale in a different colour two months later. I hope this is one thing they change because that does not help attract customers to them more.
Republic is a clothes shop that I have mixed feelings about. The Republic in Newcastle tends to sell brands such as Bench, Henley, G star etc.
Starting off with the positives, Republic has some very good deals. Two deals that they often seem to have one are 2 for £30 and 2 for £50. In the two for thirty pounds you get things such as soulcal shorts, which does make for a very good deal and is one that I have taken advantage of. I have not used the two for £50, but it has things such as bench jackets etc.
Shopping here is a reasonably pleasant experience, the shop is quite small but you never get people asking if you need help which is nice. The clothes are well laid out so its easy to spot good things.
One the negative side, some of the stuff here such as Henley's is made by brands that I wouldn't consider wearing, so for me the shop is not ideal. Another problem is that they very rarely seem to change their stock, they are selling exactly the same shorts this year as they did last year. This feels lazy and a bit cheap.
All in all if you like the clothes in here, it's a good shop but it may not offer itself as a great shop in the long term because you don't tend to see much new in here.
Republic is definitely a store I visit often because it offers great value designer clothes. It offers a lot of great, popular brands like Henleys, G-star, Fenchurch and bench. It also has a lot more good brands. You can buy very nice clothes from here but if you want shoes then you will have to look elsewhere.
The clothes are very nicely organised into the different brand sections so you can find what you want easily. There are also great value offers and deals like two items for £30 and two items for £50. Things like that will save you a great deal of money. It doesn't just put the things that nobody wants on offer either. I recently purchase a very nice pair of Bench jeans worth £39.99 and a white Fenchurch hoody also worth £39.99 and I got it on the 2 for 50 deal so I saved a lot and got some nice clothes. It has a wide range of men and women's clothes so there is something for everyone.
In my opinion I think this shop is really good and it is better than Topman because the clothes in Topman make you look like a goon anyway. It always has great value offers on popular brands and it is in my shopping centre so it is easy to get to. I would recommend using the website as it has mostly the same prices as in the shop and you get delivery offers which are practically the same cost as a bus fare into the city. But if you prefer going out with your friends to go shopping then definitely check out this shop. Thank you for reading and please rate.
My boyfriend is more of a fan of Republic than I am but I do like some of their hooded sweat shirts which are quite nice. He likes the fact that they stock Bench which he quite likes although I think they are a bit naff as a brand.
Republic are a fashion retailer for both men and women and they tend to stock either snowboard or surfer inspired wear although personally I prefer Fat Face if I want to buy that particular look. They do stock a wide range of labels and their prices are a bit more reasonable than Fat Face as they tend to run more promotions.
They are good for things like hats, gloves and scarfs with some nice designs and cool looking head gear.
I'm not so keen on their jeans although the gstar brand is not bad and the prices are reasonable enough.
The stores are generally well laid out, my nearest one does seem to go for music that is a bit too loud but this is not the case in the one I went in in London. Staff are pretty friendly and the service is fine.
I went to meadowhall shopping centre near sheffield the other day. It is the most amazing shopping ever.(seperate review to follow soon).
There is a branch of Republic in there, its quite big compared to other ones Ive been in including Southampton.
The store is laid out well with one side for men and the other for womens.
All the hoodies are put together as they are running a 2 for £30 offer on those at the moment. Pretty good value for labelled clothes.
They also do a 2 for £50 on jackets and jeans. I think this is amazing as a pair of labelled jeans could cost you £50 anyway, so to get a jacket as well this is great for xmas presents.
At the back they have a lot of skiwear like salapets and jackets. They also have a great range of hats, gloves and accessories.
If you like your jeans they have a huge selection with labels such as Bench, Hooch, Gstar, and other big names.
I particularly like their casual wear, all of it is quite surfy and stylish.
The staff in the store were very helpful particularly at the changing rooms as they ran out and got you another size so you didnt have to get dressed again.
On the mens side I just had a brief look for my boyfriend. A lot of jumpers and jeans, tshirts and a few accessories like ski hats again. Everything is in very neutral colours on this side, a big change to the womens side which is all bright pinks, blues and yellows.
I would recommened this shop to people who like the ski/surf look or want a nice going out pair of jeans/top. The customer service is great and its just a really well laid out shop.
I have walked past my local Republic store many times, but never been in because i wasn't sure what the clothes would be like. However, a few weekends ago i was in need of a brown leather jacket to go with my Ugg boots, and because i'm a bit poor at the moment, i didn't want to spend too much.
Republic sells a wide range of ladies and mens clothing. It has a lot of choice, and everything is priced very reasonably. They also have a big choice of ladies going out clothes, dresses, nice tops, jeans etc.
** My great experience at Republic**
As soon as i walked through the door i saw this really nice brown leather jacket, the leather quality was great, and after looking at the price, i loved it that much more, it was priced at £35, bargain. Whilst my boyfriend was looking at the mens clothing, i had a proper look round, see what they sold.
I picked up so many bits i wanted to try on, and once trying them on i wanted them all. They fitted great, and the quality of the clothes was outstanding for the price.
They also have a lot of deals on at this store. Buy 2 items for £30 or £50. My boyfriend was looking for a jacket, and noticed 2 he really liked in the 2 for £50 offer. So he came away with 2 jackets, one going out jacket, and one winter coat, all for £50. The winter coat he picked looked exactly the same as one we saw in Next, but that cost £80.
With Winter fast approaching, i also took advantage of this great offer, and bought 2 thick hooded jumpers for £30.
** The Store and Customer Service **
I have now visted quite a few of these stores throughout the South East, Bluewater, Lakeside, Maidstone, and all three have a great store set out. Mens on one side, and ladies clothes on the other. Its very easy to find what you are looking for, but if you are having trouble, their have always been plenty of members of staff walking around offering to help you find the right size.
I cannot fault this store in any way. It sells great high quality clothes, at affordable prices for everyone.
Republic is a clothes shop that I adore, I do not have one in my local town so when I am lucky enough to go to a town that does have one it is one of the first shops that I go into.
The have some great special offers they do two items for £30 or £50 and when it comes to the sale you are also going to grab yourself a bargain. The also sell shoes from the shop Schuh which is also a shoe shop that I adore as they have shoes in all styles and colours.
Republic sells men's and ladies clothes and has a wide variety to suit all your clothing needs. For ladies they have a casual section when it comes to jeans, combats, knitwear, hoodies, t-shirts, jackets and fleeces. Then they have a wide variety of going out clothes, dresses, accessories and tops the possibilities are endless. For men they have shirts, fleeces, hoodies, knitwear, jackets, jeans, combats, t-shirts, shorts and accessories.
Some of the brands that Republic stock are G-Star, Bench, Soul Cal, Henley's, Vila and Miso are but to name a few.
Republic is a great shop that offers high quality items at an affordable price. I am a fan of the men's hoodies I got them in the 2 for £30 and they come in a wide variety of colours they are ideal as in the ladies section there hoodies are short and fitted and sometimes you just want a baggy jumper to wear on a casual day.
The layout of the store is great as they have it in two sections, ladies and men's and then the offers are them put on the same racks so that you do not have to walk around the shop trying to finds the items with the tag on for the same special offer. They have great sales item as well so it is well worth a look if you have the time and patience, this is one of the sales I love looking in too as there are great savings and you can get a whole outfit for the price you would normally pay for the trousers.
