Deserted Island!! (River Island)

I still remember the days when River island was seen as one of the best clothes shops on the high street for both women's and men's clothing but those days are long gone (well they are for most).

River island is pretty much on a par with Next clothing, they think they are offering well designed and hard wearing clothes but in reality they are offering just the same basic clothing that the likes of Burtons, MK one and new look have to offer.

Designer clothes stand out a mile from anything River island has to offer and at least with MK one, Burtons and the likes they know what they are selling is not designer gear so they do not expect you to pay designer prices, whereas with River island you can expect to be paying around 40 to 45 pound for a pair of jeans that are nothing special to look at and not the best made.

When you consider that you can go to the likes of Sphere or Manifesto and pick up a pair of Vois or Miss sixty jeans for only a few pounds more and be getting real quality merchandise that not only outlast anything River island has to offer but have a element of real designer style to them also, why would anyone bother with River island these days at all.

On top of everything said so far you then have the staff in River island shops who are always very pushy and appear to look down on everyone entering the store, like the place was somewhere special.

River island in my opinion is a poorly run store with second rate clothing at first rate prices and is best avoided and I doubt it will be around much longer anyway because everythime I pass the store it is always empty (more like deserted ilsand)!!

Summary: Once a decent store but no longer!!
