Disadvantages: Sales you can get a great bargain but chaos in every branch!!

River Island has been around on the high street for a number of years but I think that in the last year it has really improved.

The casual wear has always been excellent but the work wear and going out type clothing include the latest fashions with a feminine fit!

Sizing is pretty much average. The fit of jeans are excellent and cater for people who have a bottom and curves yet still are flattering.

Quality is also very good. I haven't yet had anything which has fell apart or things dropped off. Prices are reasonable you are looking at £40 for a dress or jeans, and about £25 for a smart top and £15 for a casual top.

Footwear is quite expensive in comparison to other high street stores like Topshop but the stores offer a really good range and River Island offers some of the best boots from all of the high street stores. You are looking at paying around £90 for a pair of leather knee high boots.

Costume jewellery - a good range but also quite expensive. There are a lot of sparkly , shiny pieces which suits me. If you are looking for a piece of statement jewellery there is a lot on offer. Trouble is choice and you could spend forever deciding between pieces (or in my case buying more than one).

Online. You can purchase online at www.riverisland.com The website is kept up to date and some pieces even come online before they arrive on in stores. Payment is simple and items arrive promptly.

Returns and exchanged have 28 days with proof of purchase. I have never had a problem with the process and have returned on a number of occasions. Online returns are also processed quickly and the refund will be back in your account within 7 days of River Island receiving the order back.

I don't like the store at sale time , if you are prepared to look you can get a good bargain as the discounts are often up to 75% but the rails are packed and there is no room to walk between then so you end up with lots of pushing when it gets busy.

Definitely worth a visit when you are on the high street, especially if you are after footwear or jeans.
