Advantages: Friendly staff, good selection of shoes and accessories

When I go shopping, in Glasgow's City Centre, I often pop into River Island.

I really like the designs and styles on sale. However, I have yet to take a pair of trousers or jeans into the changing rooms to try them on and find them to fit!!!

Now, my weight doesnt fluctuate that much and I always fit nicely into a size 12 or a 10 at times. But, in River Island a size 12 feels to me as though I am trying to squeeze my frame into an 8! Quite depressing really when I'm feeling a little fat!

I actually overheard a changing room attendant tell a customer that she normally wears a 12, yet she has to up her size to a 14 or even a 16 on occasions!

Now, perhaps its psychological, but I really dont want to have to buy size 14s when I'm no where near that size! For one, perhaps the waist line will fit, but the rest of the trouser looks out of proportion! So now, to be honest, I dont bother trying on bottoms!

Other than this problem I've found, I like other aspects of River Island, like their shoe collection and accessories.

In the past, I have had no problem in returning goods. However, in my opinion the prices are on the steep side for some of their regular clothing.

I've always found their staff to be helpful and not too pushy.
