Advantages: Turned out how I wanted

Disadvantages: hurt a little

Ive been thinking of getting a tattoo for around 5/6 years now and but was never sure what exactly or where and since it is obviously a very permanent thing I always wanted to be one hundred percent sure of both. Once I had decided when and where though the big question was where to go to get it done? This again is something not to be taken lightly as you do not want your tattoo looking like my 2 year old has drawn it! Anyway so I set down to researching the 4 tattoo studios in Leamington.

The place that I am writing about I actually only heard of as there was an article about it in the local paper. It actually has very little advertising so is quite hard to find online. The reason that I chose this studio though was down to the fact it looked so unlike what I had in my mind what tattoo studios should look like! The outside is a bright white so not at all dark or dingy looking. The inside has shiny wooden laminate with a sofa, chairs and magazines for your perusal. There is some flash work but this is not on the walls as is often the case but in a binder. The receptionist was a very friendly not at all intimidating girl of about 22 I reckon, who was an apprentice.

The actual artist himself Dave Carson did perhaps look more like your average "inker" ie lots of tattoos and piercings but i did not find him intimidating. Once I had talked over my design we went upstairs to the actual area where I was to be inked. Now this is where I was impressed as it all looked so clean and clinical- more like a dentist than a tattoo studio! The level of hygiene here seemed reassuringly high. Once he had done the inital trace onto my skin he explained he would do one line so I could get used to the sensation. To me it felt kind of like a burny stingy pain but totally bearable and not nearly as bad as I thought it might be. It took around 30 minutes to do the script on my wrist and afterwards he gave me careful instructions on how I should look after it long term and what immediate aftercare was needed.

For my 5 letter script the charge was £30 and I'm very happy with it. If you would like to visit Sacred Heart it is at 9 Guys Place East, Leamington Spa and is near Argos. His website is http://www.myspace.com/sacredhearttattoos

Summary: Im verry happy with the result and would go back if i wanted more!
