Advantages: Money savers, Great variety
Disadvantages: 3 per customer
Once a week, commencing on a Wednesday, Safeway issues an offers leaflet. This is a way of saving pounds and pounds, by enabling you to buy items at greatly reduced prices throughout the store. ***UPDATE** As from Wednesday 22nd August 2001 the free leaflet is easier to read. It is split into sections: Fresh produce Less than 50p Frozen products Home essentials Health and beauty New instore Beers, wines and spirits. The leaflet is now 8 pages long and still has great offers throughout the store. The different Safeway stores have different offers within the same week. For instance: for week commencing 22nd August 01 savings can be made as shown below. Tetley tea bags (160) £2.99 to £1.49 Safeway lasagne (600 gm) £1.79 to 99p Photo processing 1/3 off. All in all, more than 100 items throughout the store are reduced each week in this way. The only drawback to this offer is that you only can have a maximum of 3 of each product per customer. Offers for alcoholic drinks are numerous. Wines, beers, whisky, sherry are reduced this week, eg: Bacardi 1 ltr £15.49 to £13.99 Some of the items on these offers are reduced frequently eg Mince beef 454grm £1.39 to 99p. I definitely buy a lot of these products and am very pleased that Safeway did away with the ABC Card in favour of the weekly offers. I will continue to shop at Safeway.

- 04/08/01 I love Safeway for their offers. If there are things like Coke on offer, our store lets you have 3 regular cokes and 3 diet cokes. -julie- |
