Advantages: carpark, lots of offers

Disadvantages: no loyalty card

Safeways is a supermarket like Tescos and Asda. Now I could shop at any supermarket but I choose Safeway for many reasons. Firstly the paticular one I use is close by so its helpful to me but obviosly that doesn't mean you should go running out to your nearest one.

Safeway's prices are on a day to day basis the same as Tescos, the home brands taste the same as tescos but Safeways have more and better offers than Tescos. Everyweek they have different offers and plenty!

Every week I receive a leaflet through the door listing the weeks new offers, theirs usually something for everybody including tvs and mobile phones. Alcohol, frozen foods, baby stuff and basic home stuffs are on offer. Tescos may have a few things at buy one get one free but Safeways have many products at less than half price.

The products in general are very good quality and they have a wide range including vegetarian, organic and special dietry needs. the layout of the store is easy to use and at the store I use they have recently renevated the whole store. They now have many more hot food counters including chinese, italian and southern fried chicken.

In our store we have a dry cleaners, abbey national bank, cafe and the usual baby changing facilitys and toilets. The cafe isn't very expensive and the food is really nice with a variety of breakfasts, dinners, snacks and desserts. If our planning to eat afteryou've done your shopping they have trolley parks so they don't get in everyones way.

An all round good store with car park and children's play ground on the site. As with many other supermarkets Safeways has a petrol station with average petrol prices.

I only ever buy the special offers from Safeways as their prices are far higher than Tesco's for the other stuff! Susan

My flatmate is a manager at Safeway... A lot of the offers they do are loss leaders (that is they don't make a profit, in fact they sometimes lose money) but they serve to get you into the store to do your weekly shop. It's actually cheaper if you shop at somewhere like Asda who permanently lower prices rather than doing offers...
Good op though...;)

We don't have a Safeway nearby, but I always call in if I'm in the area to see what's on offer.
