On my supermarket voyage of discovery, Safeway was last in my list (the ones I was interested in were Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's and Safeway). Store on trial was the chippenham store. Parking was easy..wait a sec, what's that sign? 10P OFF EVERY LITRE OF FUEL WHEN YOU SPEND £40 OR MORE. WHAT??!!!! 10p a ... Read the complete review

Safeway’s is not the store for me. It is too expensive. Yes they put a leaflet through my door nearly four times a week. (I am not kidding if I catch the person doing it I will give them a piece of my mind) and yes the leaflet shows many great offers. But when you get in store the money you have saved on these special offers soon gets ... Read the complete review

Safeway have got to be the most expensive supermarket, no contest. If I do a weekly shop there (which I try not to these days) I can guarantee my bill will be at least £20 more than if I went to Tesco or Sainsbury's. One good thing about Safeway was the ABC card, much the same as the other reward cards you earned points for every £ you ... Read the complete review

Safeway is supposed to be the third largest supermarket in UK, just following Tesco and Sainsburys. I have done a price comparison for these three choices, and Safeway is the cheapest one! It is also my choice at the moment, as there are two huge branches of them in Sheffield, and both not too far away from the city. As a student without own ... Read the complete review

When I lived with my family we shopped at infrequently Sainbury’s, Tescos and Safeways but then opted to make the most of the Sainbury’s reward scheme. When I became a student living away from home, however, Sainbury’s became just too expensive. Safeways became the obvious choice since Tescos involved a trip into town which would ... I always used to be a big fan of Safeway. They normally have a lot of stores in local vicinities and consequently they are normally convient to use. However recently things have changed and I am doing less and less of my grocery shopping with them. It started with the scrapping of the ABC Card scheme. Whether Safeway executives meant to ... Safeways is our nearest supermarket, all others are about 12 miles away excet for a very small somerfield. I shop in Safeways nearly every day, i find they have a wide choice of products, their staff are very friendly and helpful (well most of them!!!!) they pack your bags for you, there is a wide variety of trolleys to chose from. Im afraid to admit that I am one of these sad people that is always looking for bargins in supermarkets and like to buy different things in different shops because of the price difference! For years Safeway has been left behind as they are so much more expensive than the other supermarkets. Since they have scrapped the ABC reward system ... Read the complete review

I am living in Southampton. I always do my shopping in Safeway due to its short distance from the university. However recently I found out that Safeway always make a mistake (from my point of view it is a mistake) which makes me feeling unsecure and dangerous. I always use my credit card to do the payment because I buy lots of stuff once. One ... Read the complete review

I went to my local Safeway store today and decided to have my lunch in the café. The food was fine but service was diabolical. I got served ok and went to find a table. There were a lot of empty tables but every one of them was full of the remains from the last person. As there wasn’t any other choice I sat at one and pushed all ... Read the complete review

I was dubious when Safeway announced that they were to abolish their ABC loyalty card. When the announcement was made they stated that they would increase their special offers and that there would be more of them. I am pleased to say that I am happy with the result. Recent offers have included pre-packed cheddar cheese normally £2.49 ... Read the complete review

safeways has to be the worst supermarket in britain. their goods are overpriced, often damaged, and they offer no variaty in the range of goods they stock. safeway branded goods are low quality, very cheaply made, but expensive to buy. the customer service is poor, and it is run by stupid people who couldn't get enough GCSE's or A levels ... Bargain hunters go down to Safeway to buy your shopping with many discounts available on certain products. Safeway over the last year have a couple of products at unbeatable prices such as washing up liquid @ 50p a bottle, twelve pack of wotsits @ 29p per bag, hovis white bread @ 29p a loaf but you are limited to how many you can buy. I love Safeway, if, for nothing else than their excellent customer service, and the fact that they are so much cheaper than Sainsburys. I will admit that different stores have different managers, so there are a few Safeway shops that are not up to the wonderful service I have come to expect from them. But in general if you go into one of ... Read the complete review

After my debacle with Sainsburys (see my post under that heading) I was in dire and desperate need of a new supermarket, and so began the arduous task of searching and shopping. There's something discomfiting about new supermarkets - you don't know where anything is, whether the own brands are any good etc etc. So it took me some time to ... Read the complete review

To me, there is something about Safeway Supermarkets which is special. The staff are unbelievably friendly and helpful and the stores are just the right size – you don’t spend all day in there walking through isles of toilet rolls when you are looking for half a dozen eggs! Safeway has terminated the ABC card. I was never a big fan of shopping at Safeway, mainly because they are expensive and have a limited range of products, but in a way I was “forced” to shop there because it is the only big supermarket close to where I lived. I didn’t mind so much while ABC card was in the game. I was able to ... Read the complete review

I thought the Safeway Shop and Go scheme seemed really good, as the bit I most hate about shopping, is the unpacking and packing at the checkout. So I thought this scheme, where you scan the shopping as you go along sounded just right for me. So, I gave it a few trys but it repeatedly came up for a re-scan at the end.( and this wasn't ... I have an extreme slug phobia (I don't think there is a technical term for it). It is so extreme that I can't walk past one on the grass - after all, they're notoriously speedy - it could easily dash up my leg! Well, phobias aren't rational, are they? As todays mascara get better all the time, it can also be a nightmare to actually remove it. I used to pay about £5 to £6 for a well-known eye make-up remover.
