Sainsburys or Tescos, which one are you?

Now ubiquitous in every town in the land, chances are that you live near both, I do too. This supermarket giant retails a huge variety of foods and increacingly clothes and electricals.

Which is better? Tesco or Sainsburys? I find it difficult to choose one over the other in terms of produce and quality, usually the one I choose depends on my patience with the parking!

A huge Tesco opened nearish me not that long ago, similar in distance to the Sainsburys and now I duly go and do the weekly shop in one or the other. Sainsburys cultivates a slightly higher end image and has a comprehensive and very varied stock. I find that the own brand products are just as good as any named brand. Their 'Taste the difference' range has some very tasty and imaginative meals and products though these tend to be expensive. There are always offers such as buy one get one or price reductions to catch the eye, some of the electricals offers are very competitive and a 5p off a litre of petrol after a £50 shop offer tends to come and go.

With a Sainsburys Nectar card you gets points, 1p per pound, I let these build up over the year to take the sting out of a Christmas shop. I have heard that the days of the Nectar card could be numbered so there could be a change on the way.
