Advantages: A fantastic supermarket
Disadvantages: some things are a bit expensive
Sainsbury's is a popular supermarket with a chain of 509 stores. When people mention Sainsbury's the first thing that pops into peoples heads is "oh no, it's really expensive" I do agree with this quote but on the other hand, they do have some fabulous offers in store which sometimes makes up from the odd pence they add to their groceries.
I do find the store expensive though so I don't do my whole shopping there. If I find that they do have good offers on the stuff I usually buy then I will do my weekly shop there.
I will visit every week even if I don't shop there as Sainsbury's is the only place I will buy my bread from as I think that their fresh (made in store) bread is unbeatable. They are reasonably prices at £1.19 as this is for a standard sized loaf and you do get your moneys worth. The seeded batch is the nicest. Also I really love their cookies. I can't say I have ever tasted anything like them. They are Sainsbury's own and are triple chocolate. They are like normal cookies but with a layer of chocolate on the bottom. The chocolate is just fantastic and you could quite easily eat a full packet, but because of this I have to limit myself to a few a day or I would be the size of a house. These used to be 99p a box but have recently gone up to £1.19 and are usually 2 for £2. This price increase didn't disappoint me in the slightest as Id pay way more for such a lovely biscuit. I know Tesco have made their own version of these but they don't come close to the Sainsbury's standard. I am now going to stop taking about biscuits as I am really craving them and I haven't got any left and I am unable to go to Sainsbury's as it is Sunday and now shut D'OH!!!
I like the clothes section in Sainsbury's. They are quite expensive but of very good quality. I do usually wait until there is a 25% sale on which happens regular in store so I can get quite a few bargains then. The clothes for children are especially good and very hardwearing.
The baby department is good as Sainsbury's have a ½ price baby toiletries offer on about 3 times per year. I can't wait for this promotion as I buy loads and stock up on my essentials. I bought loads of the 4 packs of Johnson's baby wipes which I managed to get for £2.50. I stocked up on these and am only just running out now so I'm really hoping they do this offer soon. The nappies are not in this offer but at the present moment I think the nappies are a 1/3 off so this would save anyone a few pennies.
For anyone who has a Nectar card, Sainsbury's except these and every time you shop or buy petrol you can claim point. Every time you manage to reach 500 you can get £2.50 off your shopping. I can manage this quite quickly as I do shop their often.
Sainsbury's café is excellent and we usually go after we have done our shopping. Every day around 5pm before the café closes, they give you the chance to buy their remaining sandwiches for 50p. I love visiting at this time as the sandwiches are well in date and do me for my packing for work the next day. The same applies for the cakes and we got a whole carrot cake once for £1 as it had not been sold.
Right there is my review on the Sainsbury's supermarket. I bet you are all thinking I'm a fat pig as most of it I mention food but it doesn't matter, I don't care because I just love Sainsbury's.
Summary: try it you will love it
