Advantages: Good selection and simples range

Disadvantages: some items expensive

I am not a supermarket snob and will shop just about anywhere but lately due to the fact that I do not drive I have been opting for my closest supermarket Sainsbury's.

When I first started shopping at Sainsbury's I was a bit worried about the prices, I had been shopping at Tescos and thought that Sainsbury's would be a lot more expensive but was fed up of paying for cabs back from my nearest Tesco so thought I would give it a try.

I was quite impressed the store I frequent is well laid out and for quite a small store had a lot to offer. The store is well lit and well laid out and makes it easy to find what you are looking for and on the occasion when I haven't been able to find an item I have found the members of staff to be friendly and helpful in taking me to the item I require.

The Sainsbury's simple range is quite extensive and is cheap but good quality in my opinion although I am not keen on the simple meat products.

There normal own branded products also good quality and although they are probably a bit more expensive than some of their competitors own brand products I think they are worth that bit more as they are good quality and there taste the difference range is delicious.

They have a nice Deli counter and the meat counter and fish counters always have a good selection as does the bakery section which is probably my favourite part of my Sainsbury's weekly shop I love their cookies and sweet treats and the smell of freshly baked bread.

So the price comparison, there is really not a lot of difference between Sainsbury's and Tesco to be honest I think its probably a £5-10 a week difference is probably the same as my cab fare so not really making an impact of my purse they normally have a good amount of offers to save some money or some BOGOF's.

I would recommend Sainsbury's to anyone even if you are on a tight budget I think there simple range and the offers they have would appeal to most people. The range of items they stock seems more extensive in even my small store compared with my other local larger supermarkets.

Happy Shopping!

Summary: Not as expensive as you may think
