Advantages: Air Miles

Disadvantages: Apparently Not Always the Cheapest

I often shop at Sainsburys because I am trying to collect Reward vouchers to convert into Air Miles.

So what is my opinion of Sainsburys overall? Many of their own-label products are excellent, particularly their ice cream. The launch of the ?taste the difference? range has improved the quality and choice of products available, and I love their delicatessen counter. I am slightly disappointed by the quality of the fruit and vegetables in my store, and usually find Tescos to be better.

It is difficult to comment on price comparisons because the supermarkets are always running different offers, making it difficult to compare like with like. However, I have noticed that many of the popular branded items are the same price in each of the major supermarkets.

As I said at the start of this opinion, I am a Sainsburys customer primarily because of the Reward Programme. I find this to be the best supermarket loyalty scheme in existence. You get 2 reward points for each £1 spent. Once you?ve earned 500 points you get a £2.50 shopping voucher which you can collect at any time from your home store. Points can be accumulated very quickly if you buy items that have extra reward points on them, although this seems to be happening less frequently. You can also use the vouchers at a variety of participating shops including Dorothy Perkins, Beefeater Restaurants - in this case each voucher is worth £5. You can also convert your vouchers to Air Miles - each voucher is 40 Air Miles.

The other benefit at the moment is they are currently offering petrol coupons if you spend a certain amount in store:
Spend £25 and you get a voucher worth 1p off per litre
Spend £50 and you get a voucher worth 2p off per litre
Spend £75 and you get a voucher worth 3p off per litre
Spend £100 and you get a voucher worth 4p off per litre

The vouchers cannot be combined, but up to 4p per litre off already the cheapest petrol in the area is
definitely worth having.

Good overview of some special offers, but you could've said more about the supermarket in general. Hence only U rating - sorry!

I'd say that Sainsburys are probably the most expensive supermarket but that they have some of the nicest food, especially with the fairly recent taste the difference range you mentioned.
