Advantages: Discounted toiletries and cleaning products
Disadvantages: Stores normally quite small
Savers has been in my town now for the last few years.
If you have never been in Savers its a bit like Boots and Wilkinson's rolled into one, it sells toiletries but also sells cleaning products too at lower prices than Boots although its probably on a par with Wilkinson's cost wise for its cleaning products.
It sells all the leading brands such as Colgate, Imperial Leather, Sure and Lynx on the toiletries side and Flash, Cillet Bang and Cif plus some lesser known brands on the household side but they are much better value than they would be in other stores such as Tesco etc.
The shop also sells items for baby such as cotton buds, dummies and bibs as well as baby toiletries and they have a good selection of medicines with own brand products and leading brands too.
Savers also offer a range of make up such as Rimmel and Maybelline a bit cheaper than elsewhere and they also sell soft drinks, slim fast items and snack foods.
The shelfs of my local store are always well stocked and the staff are usually helpful and polite at the tills, you can purchase perfumes at the till, they are kept behind the counter staff for security.
They do always seem to have the same fragrances in there though and its normally older brands more than the latest J-Lo or Britney Spears perfume!
I recommend this shop to anyone on a budget especially in our current financial climate and you can find pretty much anything you need to keep you and your house clean from here.
Summary: A shop that is not likely to go bust in this climate!

- 03/03/09 I love Savers - I was gutted when the one near me changed to a Superdrug! |
