I had been intending to buy a new pair of shoes for a long time since my old ones are literally falling apart and have holes in.

So I went into Schuh in Nottingham yesterday to have a look around. Even though I knew the pair I wanted, I had a good look round as well because I love all the unusual shoes and brands Schuh stocks. It's important to the brand really as there aren't that many unusual offline shoes chains around. As usual the shop was busy, and full of girls cooing at the shoes - I have to say I did think the printed heels with ice creams and ice cream charms on them were cute!

I quickly found the shoe I wanted on display (2 of them in different parts of the shop so not hard to lay my hands on). I was just talking to my boyfriend about how I wasn't sure what size I am due to going into a Skechers shop recently and being very confused, when a staff member appeared. I thought that was particularly good service as the shop was very busy and we hadn't been there that long. Also, I find it annoying when you're still browsing for shoes and staff ask if they can help, so it was just at the right stage of buying for me.

He was very nice and efficient, offering to get me the shoes in 2 sizes, and even spent ages untangling the laces and apologising, which he really didn't have to do!! I chose quickly and went to pay...the woman at the cash desk was equally nice and overall I felt very happy and satisfied with the service I received.

I thought that they had a good selection of shoes on offer, though I would have liked to have seen some discounts, particularly as I could get my shoes online for cheaper and there's a sale section on there (perhaps it's to do with stock levels though).

The Nottingham store is also quite small, and I have found that of Schuh stores in general, though that's only a minor complaint because like I said, the service was exceptional, and I could always have chosen not to shop on a Saturday day time.

Their returns policy is also great - I was told when I bought my shoes that I could get a return or refund with the receipt, not something I was expecting when it's something like shoes.

As far as prices go, Schuh isn't particularly cheap, and you have to hunt for a bargain. However, as many of their shoes are brand name products, I would guess that it's not really their fault. My Skechers were around £40, but my last pair I bought there lasted me almost 3 years of wearing them almost every day for 8 hours or so, which is fantastic value for money. As well as trainers, they have pumps, Uggs, boots, heels, sandals and much more. They also have a good range for men.

Overall, no complaints, and comfy shoes!
