Newest Review: ... and when you go in you are confronted with a line of catalogues. You chose what you want, take your order to the till, pay and someone will collect your order from the massive warehouse attached and bring it to you. Like Argus, there are a few items on display such as fuse boxes, the latest offer, hammers and a few other small things to tempt you on the way to the till but the majority is kept out the back. The choice of items is huge! So much bigger than your average B&Q or Wicks store which is why the catalogue system is so effective. Service is very quick too. The best thing about Screw Fix is their prices. They are much much ch... more

We are currently renovating our house which has proved to be expensive business so we are looking to save money at every opportunity. As well as all of the materials we need to buy we have found that we are needing lots of new tools too and the cost of these really mount up. We have generally been using Wicks and B&Q for materials and turning to the internet for tools mostly but we have also been using Screw Fix and increasingly so. Screw Fix is like the Argus of DIY. The stores are generally quite small and when you go in you are confronted with a line of catalogues. You chose what you want, take your order to the till, pay and someone will ...  Read the complete review

Hi just had a new screwfix store open up in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. This is located in a small warehouse unit on the East side of Bury St Edmunds. The store is very clean and well presented with all staff being polite and more than happy to help. Screwfix offer an absolutely huge range of, power tools, fixings, accesories and electricals including lighting. Screwfix is definately worth a visit if undertaking a DIY project you'll be astounded by the range in their catalogue. The store has a small amount of free parking located directly outside. The only thing that let this store down is the size as i went in with a shopping list of 8 items and half ...  Read the complete review

If you have never been to screwfix it is definately worth a visit. If you imagine a do it yourself shop equivalent to Argos then you know what screwfix is like. Dont expect it to be as large as argos though but the principal is the same. Firstly either go to the shop or go to their site which is screwfix.com and get yourself one of their catalogues. These are are good size with 675 pages. So what do they stock? Screws, bolts, nails, packs, fixings, driver bits, drill bits, blades, abrasives, paint, sealants, ironmongery, security, lighting, electrical, heat and vent, plumbing, kitchens, flooring, conservatories, ...  Read the complete review

Screwfix, don't just sell screws. They sell tools and materials for almost every construction trade. First of all you do need an account to buy from screwfix and you get a customer number, but your post code and name will be ok if you forget the number. The best way to describe the place is like mini Argos. You look at the catolouge in store or pick one up for at home, the office, or on site and get the product numbers and quantity you need, then take it in to screwfix and pay for it wait and collect. You don't get a product checker, the only way to find out is when the staff punch the numbers into the computer, but they generaly have ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Screwfix: Screw fix (222 words)

Screw fix is like an overall whole salers for all construction trades. They stock many things from: lamps and lights to cable and pipe. I generally use Screw fix for electrical items and lamps. There quite good as you can use a catalogue to find what you want get the number and go and fill a little paper with the order numbers and hand it in at a Screw fix. Basically it's like Argos, except they don't have the machines to tell you if it's in stock or not. When you hand you little order paper into the staff tho, they go through it all to check that it's all correct, and as they have no knowledge of anything in the trade or even the ...  Read the complete review
